I highly recommend sitting on their patio—it’s right beside a small river, and you get to dine under the shade of the trees. The whole setting is absolutely beautiful. Even though it was a bit chilly when we visited at the end of August, the view was definitely worth it.
The fish and chips and the beef tacos were both excellent and very generous in portion size. The fish was thick and juicy, with a light and airy batter that wasn’t overly salty. The beef tacos were also loaded with meat—each bite was full of flavor and satisfying without feeling greasy.
After the meal, you can also take a stroll around the town—there wasn’t much shops around, but every doorstep is beautifully decorated with flowers and charming details.

Love this place! Came here because of all the good reviews and started rating! Loved the drinks, the food and the service!! We were served by both owners Jill and Kris and they were amazing and so helpful with all of our questions!! This is a must stop spot!!! The inside is beautiful and the patio is amazing with a view of a beautiful creek! Can’t wait for our next visit!! Best empanadas of life!!! They are a delicious mix of croissant, puff pastry and must try both cheese and beef!!

We visited this spot for the first time tonight and it was delicious! The patio is pretty and scenic. We tried the chimichurri fries, beef tacos, and pork tacos. All were packed high and flavourful. Another highlight was their homemade sauces, jalapeño and mango habanero. Great service too! Looking forward to returning!

We visited Historia Cantina when the restaurant was fairly quiet, with only two tables occupied.
We started with the tuna tartare, substituting nacho chips due to dietary restrictions. Unfortunately, the tuna was a bit tough and the chips tasted stale, almost as if from a bag. When we mentioned this politely to our server, she explained they had been made that day, but no replacement was offered.
The fish tacos were the highlight. The flavor was absolutely delicious and well-balanced, but sadly they arrived ice cold. If they had been served warm, they would have been amazing. Given that the restaurant wasn’t busy, it was disappointing that the food didn’t come out at the right temperature.
Overall, the flavours show real promise, especially with the tacos, but with some attention to freshness and service the experience could be so much better.

My husband and I hit up Historia Cantina and it did not disappoint! The vibe was super chill but still lively, and everyone working there was awesome. The sweet potato tacos were next-level.. legit some of the best I’ve had. And their mango jalapeño hot sauce? So good I had to grab a bottle to take home. Great food, great energy… we’ll 100% be back!

Just had dinner for two at Historia Cantina and it was amazing! We tried the tacos and the tartar—both were super fresh and full of flavor. The atmosphere is laid-back but still has a nice vibe, and the service was friendly and quick. Perfect spot for a casual night out, definitely coming back.

My boyfriend and I had such a great time at Historia Cantina, it was perfect for a date night! The food was delicious, the calamari was light and crispy, the tacos were fresh and had so much flavour, the churros were the perfect dessert, and the drinks were just as good. The servers were very friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, an amazing spot we’ll definitely go back to!

I had the pleasure of dining at História Cantina and was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. The vibe is cozy yet vibrant, and the service was warm and attentive from start to finish.
I tried the scallops, Mexican street corn, warm olives and bread, beef tacos, and wrapped it up with the churro bits and caramel for dessert. The standout for me was hands-down the Mexican street corn — bursting with flavour, perfectly charred, and honestly, I could have eaten a whole bowl of it. The scallops were also a highlight — beautifully cooked and seasoned with bold, authentic spices.
The beef tacos, while generous in portion, were a bit underwhelming. The shells lacked seasoning, and the pulled beef, though tender, was on the dry side and overpowered the other ingredients.
The biggest miss was the non-alcoholic margarita — unfortunately too sour and unbalanced to enjoy.
Still, I’d definitely go back. The quality of the food overall was solid, and the Mexican street corn and dessert alone make it worth the visit. A great local spot to explore if you’re in Schomberg!
