Pricing was on the higher end—I spent about $47 per person, including tip and a $5 slice of pound cake—but for the quality, it felt mostly justified.
The only drawback, and the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, was the bussing area. It was overflowing with dirty dishes, and gnats were swarming around, which unfortunately made their way toward my table. Not a deal-breaker, but definitely took away from the otherwise excellent experience.
Update, we went back for breakfast! I cannot say how amazing their breakfast was! Absolutely delicious, we had pancakes and eggs! Let’s say I am an egg snob and their eggs were top notch!
And service is amazing! Love love this place
The food was amazing. Their menu is incredibly niche, in a good way—offering unique dishes you won’t find at your typical café or brunch spot. Everything we tried tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. It’s clear they put a lot of intention into every ingredient. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all menu. It’s something you could come back to multiple times and discover something new each visit.
The ordering process is a bit different: you grab a menu and order at the bar—there’s no traditional server or host. But honestly, that adds to the laid-back charm. The staff at the bar were super friendly, helpful, and patient while we asked questions. They even gave some great suggestions.
I also appreciated how inclusive the environment felt. You could come here with your family, on a date, or even solo to work or relax. It’s got a great community vibe, with people from all walks of life enjoying their meals and just vibing out.
Overall, Homa Café really exceeded expectations. It made our Mother’s Day feel special without being over-the-top or fussy. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for good food, good energy, and a unique Colorado Springs experience. We’ll definitely be back!
I ordered a simple Americano and mushroom flatbread. I was told the bean roaster is holdfast, which is cliché for Colorado Springs. Their beans are over roasted, bitter, and overly earthy, as if you wanted an IPA and were served a stout.
The flatbread was greatly overdone. It arrived dry, hard, the opposite of a pleasurable and fluffy flatbread. It also lacked flavor, even with the light toppings yet heavy arugula. Overall, eating the flatbread was an undesirable chore.
They also prompt for a tip before you receive your order, which I feel is pushy and out of character for hospitality. I understand this is the normal, and that one can say “no tip” and tip with cash afterwards, however prompting for a tip prior to service is not aligned with hospitality values.
The pair was approximately $20. A chain café would have given me higher quality for $15.
Next time I will try a different dish, or simply enjoy atmosphere.
it really isn’t worth the price. $3 for store bought cheesecake. This is the only thing i bought so can’t really say much about the rest of the food. Aldis cheesecake is better. ugh.
