One of the reasons I chose Chef Donnella was because she was right around the corner from my venue at the Montclair golf and country club. When I called her to discuss a cake, she asked me what my design was going to be, and I said you are the professional please create something for me. We reviewed flavors and frosting, and I made my selections. A week before the wedding I needed an extra layer and then two weeks before the wedding. I wanted an extra layer and she quickly added that to my ticket. We left the Lego cake topper on the table where the cake was going to be placed, and when I entered my reception and saw that cake my jaw hit the ground. It was a stunning creation of great beauty. I had guests coming up to me all day and they said that was the most stunning wedding cake they had ever seen and they had all been to a lot of weddings. The cake was so intricate and the designs were perfect. The cake was melt in your mouth delicious, and the frosting was so great and it wasn’t super sickening Sweet, which was just perfect. From the moment I started working with her until she delivered and set the cake up it went so smoothly. I asked her to stop by and see me before she left in my hideout spot at the venue and she was gracious, kind, and so beautiful. I could not recommend her more for your special event because she will not let you down. She is a genius, a wonderful Baker,so creative and excellent to work with.

Let Them Eat Cake and Lolita’s Kitchen are wonderful. They catered my wedding. And the food and set up was amazing. The staff was so professional. And they even worked with me with special allergies my guests had. All the bread was made from scratch!! They made my special day worry free. 100% recommend!!
And my husband ordered my a birthday cake and it was delicious. It was boxed up nicely.

I gave Donella creative freedom on my cookies and cream cake but gave her a few restrictions.
DESIGN: The design of the cake was pretty! It was nice and cute! I enjoyed the floral detail.
FROSTING: The frosting was a buttercream. However, it wasn’t my cup of tea. It was not what i was used to due to the texture. The texture was butter. So it felt like I was eating butter and cake. I’m used to commercial cakes and i try to get whip cream cakes but it didn’t occur to me to ask for whipped cream frosting instead. My mistake
FLAVOR: I asked for an oreo cake. The cake was too sugary to me without the frosting. It was a little too sweet. That could be because of the Oreo icing melting while baking or a little more sugar added to the batter. Additionally, it was a little dry and not fluffy as I was expecting.
Overall the cake didn’t suite my taste. Sad about it because it was my birthday cake and it was my first time ordering locally. I’ve never had her cakes before so I can only compare it to except for what I get at restaurants and Wegmans/Whole Foods. Maybe she had a bad day but this was below a Walmart cake in terms of taste to me. Nice design though.

As mentioned before we had a tester cake before hiring for our daughters sweet 16. She did not disappoint. The presentation of the cake/cupcakes were amazing. It looked too good to eat. The pearl beads were edible. My daughter was so excited and overjoyed with the final product and how things turned out. We provided a picture for inspirational and received the exact replica of the picture. Everyone enjoyed and commented on how great the cake and cupcakes tasted. Stop hesitating and hire Let Them Eat Cake now! Amazing!! Our daughter’s name is Jaelyn.. the cake with Tiffany on it was the inspiration.

I sent her a sample picture and she went above and beyond my expectation at an incredibly reasonable price! Oh my goodness THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! I am in awe of the products! Happy Valentine’s Day! The chocolate covered strawberries are divine! The cheese cake is so beautiful I don’t even want to cut into it lol! Donnella was so easy to talk to, she is very personable; I truly enjoyed chitchatting with her! I look forward to ordering from her again! I love how pretty the decor is for the strawberries and the cheesecake!

I’ve ordered from Chef Donella twice already as my daughter has a dairy, egg and peanut allergy but loves to eat. Her vegan cakes are delicious and are not overly sweet for toddler. I’ve tried some other places who’s vegan cakes were bricks, hers were more moist with lots of flavor! Highly recommend!
