If Artichoke Sandwichbar East were a person, it’d be that friend you call when you need something unforgettable… and unapologetically delicious. From the instant you walk in, it’s good vibes and delicious eats. Irish pub energy by way of Wichita with live music and cold drinks always on deck.
Let’s break it down:
The artichoke dip. Honestly? Someone should bottle this stuff and declare it a utility. Creamy, tangy, slightly addictive… One bite and you’ll be plotting your next visit before you’ve even finished your chips.
Hot-to-Mama sandwich. Bold name, bold flavor this wrap brings buffalo chicken heat, melty Swiss, creamy cheese, and banana peppers all wrapped up like a party in your mouth. It’s spicy, cheesy, and cheekily named, just like the energy I adore.
Bottom line: This isn’t just dinner, it’s an experience. Great for laid-back dates, casual catchups, and anyone who believes a sandwich should have swagger.

First time ordered the notorious P.I.G and it was nothing like the menu picture showed. I got zero BBQ sauce, was really dry, and very salty. The corn beef sandwich ordered and the submarine they had Very little dressing, very dry also. REALLY disappointed how bad the food was and it wasn’t only 1 sandwich that was terrible but all of them. I have been to the original restaurant a few times over last 20 years or so and was always good.

Another check mark on my list of 100 must try Wichita restaurants. The service was good, prompt and attentive. It was about 3:30 pm so there was only one other table who already had their food. I ordered the Seester with potato salad. The sandwich was a bit disappointing, not as much pastrami as I expected. Apparently they were out of pickles which was part of what was supposed to be served with the sandwich and chips but we had to ask why there wasn’t a pickle. The toasted onion roll was tasty.

There is a good rule of thumb that applies to both the retail stock market investor, and this establishment in particular….BUY THE DIP! I almost didn’t; it was an afterthought… Would have been a tragic mistake not to. I could have sat there eating that jalepeño artichoke dip for a week straight. Bring your date, but be prepared to skimp on the conversation; you’ll both be too deep in the dip. Service, 11/10. Vibes, fleek/yes. Sandwich, corned beef. Jealous of anyone who lives near this local high-water mark of taste and sophistication. The only room I see for improvement would be providing IV bags so that the dip can be intravenously injected directly into my veins. We will be back.

Artichoke is one of my favorite Irish pubs in town! They have friendly staff in a cozy, welcoming environment. They have entertainment several nights a week from live bands to karaoke. The food is tasty and comes out quickly. The pours are healthy and the selection is bound to please aficionados. You can’t miss with either Artichoke location!

Disappointed. The famous 8 is not what it once was. Hardly any cream cheese or dressing no parm. Use to get good homemade chips but today I got a bag of plain old lays. I’m sad this use to be one of the best sandwiches places around. Seems that has changed. Edit, thanks for the reply. This was a to go order so did not eat until we got home.

Winner, winner!! New East location is super nice. Great decor, with cool colors, polished floors, beautiful tables & light mood background music. Bit of a relaxed Pub/Club vibe – upscaled version of downtown location – believe the menu selection is the same. Service was great. Had the Famous #9 Sandwich (always a wonderful choice) and the St. Mullins Meat Pies… crispy crust, delicious filling. Onion, gravy, mashies – terrific! Theme nights – see photo. Highly recommended.

I didn’t know the east one existed and was excited when I seen it so we stopped in for lunch. The inside was cool but the food was no where close to as good as the broadway location. I always get the same thing and was so bland with no flavor from the sandwich to The potato salad and the beans. About an hour later, my stomach was in knots for the entire day so much pain and in the bathroom until the next morning! Such a disappointment!
