Nice clean place. Delicious açaí berry smoothie! A bit pricey but seems worth it.

I’ve only been coming to Tropical Smoothie for the past 4 days, and I’m already done with this location because the quality control and customer service are unacceptable.
First issue (yesterday):
I picked up a smoothie I’ve been ordering consistently, and it was visibly wrong. I add dragon fruit, and I know the color is supposed to be a bright/hot pink. Instead, it was a pale peach color. When I pointed it out, it felt like the solution was basically to “patch” it—like they just tossed it back in, added dragon fruit, and poured it right back into the cup as if everything else had been made correctly. But the smoothie was still missing ingredients (for example, I could tell there was no ginger). The bigger problem is that it was clear the ticket wasn’t being followed closely the first time.
Second issue (today):
Today I ordered online again, trying a different smoothie because I planned for it to be a meal replacement: the Peanut Butter Chocolate Protein smoothie. I did not add any extra sugar. I expected something that tasted like peanut butter, chocolate, and maybe a little banana—more “protein smoothie,” less “dessert.” Instead, I got a mouthful of overwhelming sweetness.
Since I’m still new to ordering here, I called the store calmly to ask what I should request to avoid it being so sweet (for example, should I ask for extra peanut butter, less sweetener, etc.). The woman I spoke with on the phone was polite and helpful, and I appreciate that.
But when I came into the store, a male employee was rude, dry, and visibly disrespectful (literally talking to me with his lip turned up before I even started talking to him). Rather than simply answering my question or offering solutions, he kept bringing up yesterday in a way that felt messy and confrontational—like he was trying to create an argument and “prove” there was a problem with me as a customer, instead of focusing on fixing the issue.
To be crystal clear:
I did not raise my voice.
I did not use profanity.
I was not rude or disrespectful.
I was simply a paying customer asking for my order to be made correctly and asking how to customize it to avoid added sweetness.
What’s especially frustrating is that I did not come in looking for conflict. I came in because I simply wanted my smoothie made correctly so I could enjoy it and go about my day. Instead, this situation cost me an additional 20–25 minutes — time I genuinely did not have to spare while preparing for something work-related. I don’t understand why it’s so difficult for staff to recognize that when a customer calmly points out an issue, they are not “coming in on 10” — they just want their order made right.
At one point it was basically implied the sweetness is “normal” because sugar is added automatically, which is exactly the kind of information that should be clearly communicated upfront—especially when customers are ordering something marketed as a protein smoothie. If sugar/sweetener is default in that drink, customers should be told how to request it without that.
What should have happened today was simple:
“Here are the options to reduce sweetness (no turbinado/sweetener, less base, add peanut butter/protein, etc.). No problem—we can remake it.”
That’s it. No attitude. No rehashing yesterday. No attempt to turn it into drama.
This location has shown me in two days that they aren’t consistently reading tickets, aren’t consistent with ingredients, and at least one employee is comfortable being disrespectful to a calm customer. This is not a place committed to getting your order right or ensuring you have a good experience in general. I have no plans to return to this particular store, which is disappointing because it’s the closest one to me. The way I was handled today was unacceptable.

Don’t get an acai bowl here. Not only is it $12 for a generally small portion, but the base is frozen. Its been thawing out for 20 minutes, which I found was weird when I see other reviews of full on smooth base where you can mix in the fruits and the granola. I guess we need it frozen because its going to melt quick in 60 degree weather

They literally have NOTHING IN STOCK & their CUSTOMER SERVICE IS DRY ASH!!! Its EVIDENT that the people working their hate their jobs and granted no one goes to work elated to be there but as an adult i dont show that dissatisfaction on my face. Plain and simple this location is miserable.

I truly didn’t even order anything and walked out! I am big on energy and with the miserable energy those young ladies had id rather any day!!

I ordered for delivery and when I received my food it had written on the box “tip your driver!!” I find that extremely rude. The employees have no idea if I tipped in cash or not or after my delivery! and it’s not their business!! What I do with my money is MY business not theirs. It’s very unprofessional! I know it was the employees who did it because they wrote on my bag the order number and my bag was sealed when delivered.

First time going, but it definitely won’t be my last. I ordered the caesar wrap with a sunrise sunset smoothie. They were both delicious. I paid about $14, and I think it was worth it. Easy to order online and no issues picking it up.

Acai bowl with acai base, strawberries, blueberries, banana, granola, chia seeds and honey was fantastic. Chicken pesto which is flat bread stuffed with grilled chicken, tomatoes, shredded parmesan, mozzarella and pesto was just fine. Green dream yoghurt with chobani greek yoghurt blended with avocado, lime, honey, spinach and kale topped with mango, blueberries, granola, coconut and chia seeds was delicious.

My top 2 smoothie choices are the Sunset Sunrise and the Mango Monsoon. If you are looking for a nice refreshing snack Tropical Smoothie Cafe is the place to go. They also have wonderful chocolate chip cookies. Customer Service is always top tier and everything made to order. Check them out for your next refresher.
