Every time I walk into Momma Goldberg’s on Broadway, it feels like coming home. The vibe is pure Columbus comfort: friendly faces behind the counter, that unmistakable smell of fresh-steamed roast beef, and a line out the door at lunch (for good reason!).
Today we kept it simple and ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap and the classic Chicken Salad Sandwich, and wow, both were absolute perfection. The Caesar wrap was packed with crisp romaine, grilled chicken that actually tasted grilled, shaved Parmesan, and just the right amount of creamy Caesar dressing, all wrapped in a soft flour tortilla. It’s huge, hearty, and somehow light at the same time. The chicken salad sandwich on toasted wheat-berry bread is still one of the best in town: chunky white-meat chicken, just enough mayo, a little crunch from celery, and that signature touch of sweetness that makes Momma’s version legendary. I could eat it every single day.
We also tried the tortilla soup hoping for a win, but it was the only miss: thin, one-note, and overwhelmingly peppery with almost no chicken or veggies to speak of. Honestly, skip the soup and double up on sandwiches instead; you won’t be mad.
The staff, though? 10/10. Everyone was smiling, patient while we decided, called us “baby” and “hon” in the best Southern way, and had our food out lightning-fast even though the place was slammed. Sweet tea was perfect, chips were fresh, and they even threw in a couple of their famous nachos with cheese “on the house” because it was our first time at this location.
Momma Goldberg’s isn’t fancy, but it’s real, delicious, and consistent. The Caesar wrap and chicken salad sandwich alone are worth the full five stars.
Every time I come to town from Atlanta for business, I stop at this location because of the way I get treated in the quality of the food. It’s the best sandwich and salads in town.
Monica & Annajoi were the people I dealt with today and they were absolutely awesome. My order was perfect and they were real pleasant. Good to see a smiling face.
I will be back anytime I am in Columbus
