My husband and I made a 6 PM dinner reservation to celebrate our anniversary on a Tuesday – restaurant about halfway full. Service from all staff and our waiter was very friendly and attentive.
-Seared Halloumi with Pistachio Pesto & Arrabbiata
-Calabrese Pizza made with their in-house Balloon Bread dough
-Cacio e Pepe
-Bottle of white wine (couldn’t recall the name, but it was light, refreshing, and hit the spot)
Food was SO delicious! We ended up ordering a second pizza because it was so good!
Would highly recommend for a nice meal and for any special occasion or just because!
They accommodated my dietary restrictions so smoothly without making it feel difficult at all, which we really appreciated. We enjoyed it so much that we wanted to return the next day, but there was no availability on OpenTable. We still decided to walk in, and luckily, we were seated right away.
What really stood out was the owner / manager personally meeting with guests. Both visits were equally wonderful. Friendly staff, live music, beautiful colors, and an overall fantastic atmosphere.
I would highly recommend Halani to anyone visiting the Big Island.
Ambience is fantastic. Part inside, part outside.
A great Hawaiian vibe.
Ate here for dinner on my third and last night. The bread was soooo delectable and chewy. I ordered the wagyu steak and it was way too chewy, rather than melt in your mouth, and there wasn’t a lot of flavor. It would’ve been better with some marinade. I would skip it if you’re looking for a good steak.
