With a passion for creating happy people and our love of coffee, we opened our first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland Oregon in 1998. The demand for convenient, quality coffee & espresso grew and soon after opening our original location in Ashland, we expanded to surrounding cities in Southern Oregon. The Human Bean quickly established a reputation for having friendly and experienced baristas and offering the highest quality ingredients.

The Human Bean is such a reliable spot! I’ve been here a few times now, and even though I try something different every single time, I have yet to be disappointed. Whether you’re using the convenient drive-thru or walking up to the ordering window, the experience is always top-notch.
Why I Keep Coming Back:
• The Protein Coffee: I tried a small protein coffee with protein cold foam this time, and it was the perfect fuel for my shopping day and the drive home. There was one tiny clump in the foam, but honestly, it was otherwise perfect and delicious.
• The Signature Touch: My absolute favorite part is the tiny chocolate-covered espresso bean they put on top of the lid. It looks like a little quail egg and is such a fun, tasty bonus!
• Fantastic Service: The staff is consistently lovely, and the coffee is always made exactly right.
It’s a fun little addition to the neighborhood and a great pick-me-up. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to see what I’ll try next!

Their coffee is amazing. You get a free chocolate covered espresso bean with every drink. Their customer service is top notch. We would visited them a lot when we lived in Colorado. and now that they’re out here in Virginia, we happily will drive 20 minutes . The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Exemplary standard for customer service.

Tried The Human Bean today on a whim for the first time and it have to admit I wasn’t expecting anything more than Dunkin style drip coffee but was so pleasantly surprised—what a gem!! I was greeted by Kamil at the walk up counter who answered all my questions about the drinks and was super kind. This location has an incredible range of drinks but what sets them apart for me personally is their large selection of sugar free syrups. They have pretty much every single flavor so I opted for an Americano with the Irish cream sugar free as per Kamil’s recommendation. I will for sure be back soon and suggest trying this place out for yourself!

They take the time to make sure every order is perfect and treat every customer with warmth and care. Good coffee, not so great ordering experience. The drive through experience here is a bit difficult with the noise of the traffic on the street nearby so hearing what they say back to you is hard. Other than that, the drinks are delicious and I love the little chocolate covered coffee bean that comes with it ☺️

The first few times were great. The past 3 times, our coffee has been bitter and unsweetened, even though we asked for extra syrup. Additionally, none of the drinks are labeled(one has oat milk!).

My wife and I love coming to the human bean for a poolside until today.
The lady at the drive through was rude and while I appreciate her trying to make jokes when we asked for a moment to look at the menu she sounded annoyed. When we were ready to order I ordered what I usually order. A 32oz poolside with light ice. They have NEVER had a problem with my order however today she suggested I order a 24oz instead. I said no thank you id like my regular 32oz with light ice and I was handed a 32oz cup with about 2 and a half in of empty space.
I am incredibly frustrated as I have never had this issue and the staff member was incredibly rude to me when I was frustrated.
