My husband has only tried shawarma when I brought home leftovers from lunch with coworkers so I wanted him to try it fresh and see his thoughts. We decided to try Abu Omar and we were absolutely not disappointed!
The place itself is very clean and like the reviews said, really clean bathrooms too! It’s bright enough that you can see, but the lighting isn’t so bright that’s it’s annoying. There’s a fair amount of seating and tables for large groups.
Our food though, was absolutely delicious! I got the chicken shawarma rice bowl and my husband got the chicken burrito. I was impressed with the portion size up front. The flavors though!!!! Every bite of everything we ate was so so so delicious! Even the salad with the corn on it was so full of flavor! The staff was absolutely wonderful as well! They were polite, patient and so friendly.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and we will absolutely go back!

These guys have something good going on! I’ve been here more than once, and so far, every item I’ve ordered has been well cooked, seasoned – flavorful overall! Shawarma, Arabi, quesadilla, rice bowl, salad bowl, burrito – they have an ideal number of options for their proteins. The chicken is tasty and their garlic sauce hits the mark . I appreciate that they even season their sides (like the salad) which makes such a difference to the overall experience. Just note that the lamb gyro is mixed with beef (for those with meat restrictions). Great customer service – friendly and welcoming crew! The interior is also a big step up from the previous restaurant that used to operate here. The renovated orange and black combo complements the clean and vibrant feel of the place. While they are quite well suited for take out, there is enough seating with quick service for dining in. Hope the quality is maintained!

Was craving Abu Omar during work today. Had to make my way there. Some of the best food in Allen. I ordered the Beef Shawarma today. It was pretty good. I prefer the lamb I ordered the week before but shoutout to Mohammed taking the time to explain the sauces that work best with the food. Definitely my go to for great eats!

Absolutely amazing experience at the new Abu Omar Halal branch in Allen, Texas. The place is spotless beyond clean, and the food is truly incredible, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. I’ve ordered the beef and brisket wrap twice, and both times I noticed a slight lamb-like taste, which I personally don’t like. That’s the only reason for 4 stars.
