This is probably among the top 5 best tasting Indian restaurants I have experienced across multiple cities I have been to in the US. The palak malai kofta is delicious and second to none.
While most of my experiences have been positive, one particular server at the restaurant has been habitually adding 20% gratuity to my bill every time I dine in, without informing me. This happens even if I dine alone or in a party of 2 people. I find this behavior sneaky and disgusting, being a regular at this place. I have never dined in without leaving a decent tip every time. Other servers have been welcoming, do not engage in this pettiness, and are professional. Hopefully the management evens out this wrinkle in an otherwise amazing establishment in our city.

Let me start by saying something positive. My family and I (we are originally from india and live in CT) have been to this restaurant multiple times (including dine in and take out) and we always have very nice things to say about the food and the service provided by this place. Best dishes amongst many that we have loved getting from this place are chicken biryani and chicken 65. Earlier this month, my boyfriend and I ordered chicken 65 and gobi Manchurian. We always ask for SPICY and in the past they have always been 10/10 with our spice requests but this time we left disappointed because not only the marinade of chicken 65 was changed but it was also not spicy at all! When I politely mentioned it to the female server and inquired if the recipe had been changed or if there is a new chef in the kitchen…her response was “Really? Your spice tolerance must have increased”. She also told me that garlic naan and kulcha are the same thing which made me want to laugh. All we wanted was a nice meal and we ended up being gaslight by the server and left dissatisfied and disappointed. We are not sure we’ll return.

Wonderful Indian food that we’ve used a few times for catering events. They are prompt and communicative, and we ALWAYS get compliments on the food when its Lazeez. Will be ordering from them again in the future!

I cannot stop myself from writing this review. We went to New Haven to attend a commencement Ceremony and later wanted to get some good Indian food. The ambience and service were good but the biggest disappointment was when we found a “lady bug” in the biryani. Honestly until we saw the bug we were enjoying the food but the moment we noticed the insect in the biryani we felt enraged and disappointed about the hygiene of the place. This makes me question the hygiene standards that the restaurant is maintaining inside the kitchen. The kitchen is not visible to anybody so we naturally trust that people responsible take care of the most basic hygiene that is needed. It feels ridiculous and I will never go to this restaurant again.

I had the pleasure of dining at Lazeez Indian Restaurant last week, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish! We sampled several dishes, including Lagan ka Murgh, Jhingha Manchurian, Chicken Biryani, and the standout Hyderabadi Keema Parantha, which was perfectly spiced and delicious. While the Drums of Heaven were a bit undercooked with a raw spice taste, the servers were incredibly accommodating and handled it promptly. A special mention goes to the chai-spiced Old Fashioned drink—it was incredible! The perfect blend of warm chai flavors with the classic cocktail made it an absolute delight. Lazeez is definitely worth a visit for both the food and drinks!

Excellent food, atmosphere, and service. My family is south Asian(Pakistani & Indian) and we all loved it. You know it’s good when mom who’s the toughest critic likes this place. Will definitely come back soon. Also fully halal!

The team went extra miles to serve us hot chai tea in this cold winter. Menu is thoughtfully curated, and food expertly delivered. I wholeheartedly give it a full score and would recommend a visit to anyone.

First and foremost, the service is impeccable with the waiters being very attentive. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing. The food is by far the best Indian food I have ever had here in CT, second to none. I would highly recommend taking the drive and having some of the best Indian food outside of India. Great job guys!!

I have been here a couple of times. It is small but has a very cool decor especially the tables are very cute. They do have good indo-chinese options as well. I don’t think they have cocktails there!
