So sad, the service was excellent and the place is clean and welcoming but the food was not for us. All three of us felt like our dishes had no flavor at all. Staff is extremely accommodating and was willing to bring us seasonings etc but unfortunately this was probably our least favorite Ramen ever judging off of taste. Definitely overpriced too. $2.75 extra to add Ramen egg to a vegetarian dish when other dishes come with egg + a meat for the same price is a pretty steep ask. I do want to highlight however that service was so nice so this is not an attack to them at all!! But the food does need to be worked on significantly. Veg creamy ramen for example, adding all the extra greens unseasoned really dilutes the flavor. Stomach was upset once going home too and had to take OTC meds for it.

We ordered two pork ramens. To be honest, it wasn’t very impressive. The price is $18, but the flavor doesn’t really match that cost. The broth is rich and the portion is large with plenty of noodles, but overall the dish doesn’t feel like it’s worth the price.

The smell of food in the dining area is very strong — the ventilation seems weak. The waitress was friendly and attentive, which was nice, but the food itself was just average. If the ramen were around $10, I’d probably judge it differently.

Absolutely amazing food. The ramen is delicious and super hearty. Highly recommend coming here. Cheers to Kenji for being a great owner!

Great food, friendly, attentive service. Priced right. Gyoza was crunchy outside, succulent inside. Ramen broth had deep flavor. Buta Don rice sauce was just right.
Enjoying the improved menu with more rice dishes. Gyudon is good.

I really liked this place overall. The ramen had good flavor but was too salty for my taste. On the other hand, the karaage was absolutely perfect—probably the best I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. The staff didn’t come to take our order, and we had to go up to the counter to ask for the check.

I was at the opening of their first restaurant in Palatine and they were great. As good as many in Japan. Over time they reduced the quality (cost) of the food and leveled off. They’re still okay and a little better than Tokyo Bowl. I miss the Kara age they use to make. More crunch the pieces had more surface area and ginger taste. The Best Condition had more whole garlic and veggies too. The chicken broth was kind of on the salty side. Got a side order of egg and they were nice. The price is still pretty close to when they opened so that’s a plus. Also most of the people in there with us for lunch appeared to be Japanese so it does say something about its authenticity.

My coworkers and I wanted to get some ramen and I will say ramen house was the right choice. We all loved the gyoza that we shared. Flavor and done’ness level was on point! I got the vegetarian ramen and enjoyed every bite and drop of soup. The service was a little slow which normally isn’t the case. I will say that this shop is way better inside than some of the other locations! Ramen for the win!

The ramen broth tasted like a poorly blended mix and had no depth at all. For such an overpriced bowl, the chashu was unacceptable…it had a strong pork smell, and the green onions on top were clearly discolored and not fresh.
What made it worse was the cleanliness. The ramen bowl and spoon were sticky. When I asked for clean ones, instead of apologizing, the staff looked visibly annoyed, which was honestly shocking.
On top of all that, the prices were higher than what’s listed online, the portions were smaller, and the overall value was terrible.
Too bad.
Definitely won’t be coming back.

Soft opening on 12/05/2019. Attentive and friendly staff. Everything we ordered came out quickly and was hot and delicious. Not very many seats, so be prepared if it’s busy. Got a bit Smoky in the restaurant from the fryers, so hopefully they’ll get their ventilation adjusted properly. I will definitely be back

We decided to try this local Ramen place with our son. I’m vegan, and my son and husband are both pescatarian (no shellfish). The restaurant is absolutely adorable. Our server was pleasant, but very visibly overwhelmed (not their fault by any means – they appeared to be the only server on a busy Saturday evening). When we ordered, we very clearly noted our dietary restrictions (I was to have a vegetable broth, the vegan noodles, and absolutely no fish, egg, dairy, meat products whatsoever. For our son’s, we were very clear that his food was to be entirely vegetarian (veg broth, no meat, no meat broth, etc), and my husband had a poke bowl without the shrimp. The server repeated our order back to us, and was very clear about our dietary restrictions. Unfortunately, our son’s order which we were told was correct….had meat in it (meat broth). Only after he began eating it, did the server come over and asked if we’d started eating yet. We immediately stopped, and asked for clarification – they had mistakenly given him a meat broth instead of the vegetarian broth. The server was very apologetic, and we could hear them correct the kitchen staff in how the food needed to be remade with special attention to the vegetarian nature of the food.

The food was absolutely delicious, however, I do not believe we will be back. This was terribly upsetting to our son, and to both my husband and myself.

If you do not have dietary restrictions, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

*They do offer vegan noodles, and have vegetarian broth. However – for those who consume a vegan/plant based diet – be aware that you need to be very clear with your requests.
