The staff here were SO sweet, friendly & helpful!! The food was amazing, the portion sizes were worth every penny & I would recommend this place to anyone in the area. Try the toasted coconut pineapple ice cream! I wish they sold it by the pint

Best food we’ve had on our trip! Shrimp tacos, salad with shrimp, and chicken sandwich was absolutely amazing. Coconut shrimp was a little too sweet but still good. Great place! Easy parking. Highly recommend.

I own a restaurant in the area, so my expectations are somewhat different than most. Don’t let the location fool you, it’s tucked away but so worth it. Our party consisted of 4 boys (10 years and under), my husband, a friend, and myself and everyone loved their food. The decor is beachy, quaint and fun. The atmosphere is lively, clean and cute. The employees all seem genuinely happy to be there and were very kind and upbeat. I loved their handmade cocktails (I tried a coconut spritzer, which was amazing), my lunch with a was coconut shrimp and the huge salad with homemade sweet vinaigrette and a side of onion rings. Our table also tried the shaved steak sandwich that my husband was very impressed with (he is a hard one to please), the chicken sandwich, burger, kids quesadilla, pizza and hot dogs. The house made fries were soo good. We will definitely be back. Keep up the amazing work.

Super disappointed. We had been looking forward to this restaurant all week on our vacation. Read other reviews that it was very similar to Fish Hut Grill (maybe even the same chef?) and every time we drove past Fish Hut Grill it was lined out the door.

When we got there, the parking lot was half full and there were a few tables open outside. However, when I went in to order, they told me it would be 45 minutes for food because they had a big party that just got their food. Not sure how one party sets a kitchen back almost an hour. And they weren’t lying, it took right about 45 minutes for our food to come out. When I went in to refresh my drink, I heard them tell a party that it would be over an hour for an order. That party left. I would have liked to order another kids meal, but with an hour wait, it was impossible.

Overall, the food was okay. We ordered a smattering for the five of us (two adults and three kids) including the special pierogis, coconut shrimp, peel and eat shrimp, dry rub wings, onion rings, pretzel bites, house salad, and a kids chicken tenders and fries. Probably the best part of the meal was the peel and eat shrimp and the onion rings. The special pierogis were maple bacon, but they were so sweet, they were basically dessert. The dry rub wings were seasoned after they were cooked and they were over seasoned. The order came ten wings to an order and I wanted to split flavors, but they wouldn’t do it. The salad was over dressed. The coconut shrimp were decent, but mostly breading. The fries on the kids plate were undercooked and the pretzel bites were overcooked.

Based on the reviews and what I read before we went, I really wanted to like it, but overall I was disappointed.

Great place to get great food with a unique flavor. I had the Banh Mi sandwich and loaded fries. My husband had the fish tacos and the perigoes. The food is definitely not your average bar food, which is nice to have in this area. Will be going back for sure.

Staff is very nice and helpful as well.

Update: 21Nov2025. I’ve been back several times and it’s been excellent every time. The French onion soup, the citrus margarita, the bonzo salad, the house chips, the service. Excellent. Every. Time.

How have I lived in Hubert this long and didn’t know about this place?!?! The atmosphere, the staff, the food. Top notch. It’s equal parts hole in the wall, coastal chic, and plant lover and the food is amazing. The banh mi with the pork is drool worthy. The staff are super friendly and responsive. Our new favorite place!

We had a fantastic experience at Coastal Haze for dinner! Definitely will be a place we visit again and again. We got the steak banh mi sandwich, chicken pita sandwich, buffalo wings, and fries. Everything was delicious… the pita was homemade y’all! The Haze sauce was so yummy. The fries were crispy and fresh!
The restaurant has a lot of seating both inside and outside. It’s a bit of a drive from Emerald Isle and the other beach vacation spots but we recommend it. A great spot for lunch or dinner!

I haven’t eaten here since the new name change and remodel so I went for the first time and wanted a steak sub but it’s called 2 different things on different menus I found (Steak and cheese on one and rotisserie beef on the other. ) What I ended up getting I would actually call an Italian beef sandwich like is popular in the Chicago area. Either way, it was a great sub. Next time I’d asked for them to leave off the giardiniera and add mayonnaise. I would definitely get it again when I’m in the area. The inside of the place looks great and they’ve done some really neat modifications. The person that took my order and rang me out had a great personality. Unfortunately I don’t recall her name.
