Family took me here for my birthday and it didn’t disappoint. Local family run business with good food and good service. Not very big, with a handful of tables and sushi bar seating. They have a bit of everything Asian. Hibachi, Sushi, Chinese and a little Indian. Everything was very tasty and my sushi presentation was amazing. They even brought me a slice of Japanese layer cake for my birthday. She said they dont have it all the time, so I was lucky. We thought they were a new restaurant, but when we asked they said they had been open for like 5 years. Not sure how we missed this little hidden gem. You need to go and check them out.

Best sushi in the area, hands down. The staff is great! Tina is the best. We’ve tried nearly every sushi roll on the menu and they’re all delicious and come out perfectly plated. Their dinosaur egg appetizer is super unique and tasty. Our favorite rolls are crunchy spicy tuna, Philly, shrimp tempura, rock’n’roll, angry dragon, pink lady, spicy lady, and their regular sashimi is great. Right now, they have toro (fatty tuna) as their special. They now sell very cool T-shirts.

Bell Hut in Mechanicsville is one of my favorite places to go. From the moment you walk in, the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is small, clean, and cozy, which makes the whole experience feel warm and personal. While we were there, a birthday celebration was happening and the team went all out—special music, ice cream with a candle, and big smiles all around. It was such a thoughtful and joyful touch.
The sushi is always fresh and delicious. The Nemo Roll and the Caterpillar Roll are my favorites and never disappoint. It’s also great that they offer Thai dishes and hibachi, so there’s something for everyone. The staff is very accommodating and clearly cares about their guests.
We truly love Bell Hut and highly recommend it for amazing food and an even better experience!

It’s a kind of small place to eat in, but all the food I have tried is very good. I had always gone there for sushi in the past , but recently I tried a couple other Asian dishes, some basic favorites like General Tao Chicken and Chicken Pad Thai. Both really good, prepared well and a generous portion size. Friendly staff and consistent quality meals make this restaurant a winner for me.

I got takeout and got items off the a la carte menu. Which was the unagi, and yellow tail Hamachi. I also got the salmon Maki roll. Everything was very fresh, no fishy smell or taste whatsoever. The fish/eel was was tender. For what I got price wise it was not bad at all($23.50) the takeout order was packed very well, no spillage or anything. I would love to come back and eat inside the resturant as I enjoyed the food very much.

I’ve come to bell hut only for years, easily almost 8 years. I travel from Richmond to go to bell hut that’s how much I respected this place. Went last night for my spouses birthday and and the women with the short black hair refilled our glasses halfway while looking me in the eye and smiling? Like did I do something? Then when it was time for the tab she abruptly jumped beside me and gave my spouse this weird thumbs up, cocked her head and smiled as she delivered another half full glass of water and the tab. Really seemed pushy and aggravated. Food was great but the service was literally just weird this time. I’ve never had an experience like that anywhere I’ve ever eaten. Just really strange interactions to say the least. Our original waiter the young boy he was great till the women with short hair came and started acting weird with us. Also we asked for a Togo order after our dinner to take home and it was never put in and again just seemed so stingy with refills. I don’t know what was going on. Going to be taking a break from BellHut for a little.
