Burgers are amazing! Fries are amazing! Onion rings are amazing! It’s a casual, small joint. Menu is kind of small, but that’s ok cause they get it done right! Flavor is on point, and those hand cut fries are the best fries I’ve ever had. They have a toppings bar, Pepsi (includes big red) and a few beer beer choices! The workers present during our visit were super friendly and helpful! We will definitely be back…..over and over again!! Best burger in Louisville, quite possibly in KY!

Edit. 3/28/18. There are new owners, they took the fresh bar away so now your toppings are on your sandwich. I really loved the fresh bar 🙁 Don’t get me wrong, the food is still good, but it was great. I don’t know what they do different, but it’s just not the same. Sadly, they’ve dropped way down on our list of go to places.

I got The Trip and that was the best mushroom and cheese style burger I’ve ever had. The fried onions really kept it from being too mushy, gave some good texture. And the onion rings were amazing! Definitely going back.

This was a really great experience and even on Louisville Burger Week. I had the PB&J Burger that was really good despite my uncertainty about it. The owner was working and engaging customers and was glad to have me there and welcomed me back again. The crew spun out burgers quickly despite a heavy crowd. My burger was cooked to order, medium and came out perfectly. I’m glad I went and tried something outside of my comfort zone.

Highly recommend to others! Great local spot with fun options to “build your own burger”!

Hints:
– Ask for extra cheese. (I had to go home to add more cheese to mine ☹️)
– Spicy ketchup wasn’t really spicy (moreso sweet than anything)
– Parking is slightly limited but we went on the weekend so we could park in front of State Farm)

Picture: Turkey burger with cheddar (habanero cheddar was what I’d ordered but was scant) &a sweet potato fries (crispy and delish + smoked honey to dip)

Their bison burger is one of the best in town! Great service too. It can get crowded and you may end up not getting any seats.

Not to completely plagiarize the previous review, but:

[We] used to like this place. The burgers were good and at a fair price. The previous owner cared about quality over cutting corners to put more money in her pocket. Now with new owners the Bluegrass Burgers are far more greasy than before, and don’t taste near as good. Prices have increased quite a bit. Under the previous owners the Bluegrass Burger had far less grease, and more flavor. Now under new ownership the burger with the same name has far more grease, and less flavor. Also the new owners now have less items on the bar. [We] won’t return due to the drop in quality. Why would you change a good thing? Will not be back to this place. Time to find another burger bar.”

Furthermore, the new menu “system” is convoluted and we were treated rudely for not immediately understanding the disorganized presentation.

Very high quality local burger chain! We decided to eat here on a random choice for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. It’s a small location, but a very local and home like feel to it. Lots of choices for fresh beef and bison. Very well stocked topping bar, and good sides including sweet potato fries and onion rings.

The sandwiches arrived fast and weren’t overcooked. Sides were hot and crispy, staff were super friendly! Overall great experience and I definitely plan to return and bring some friends so they can try it too!
