Great place to eat for Somalian food! It might look like hole in a wall but they serve some good food! I went there twice in our stay in Seattle. Very good customer service. I highly recommend the rice! They make rice from goat broth don’t use water to cook rice! Lamb shank was very good also! I think lamb shank could be more tender but for me it was fine! They have family room for guests who want privacy. Rice was the best menu item! Sambosa was pretty awesome too! Made out of ground beef. Overall very good experience.

Absolutely delicious food that made me feel amazing after eating. The green sauce was very spicy and blended well with my dish. aaand they gave me a banana… what an interesringly odd yet nice touch.

The price / portions were also spot on in my opinion. I ordered the chicken Kati. Thank goodness they actually had the bitter bread. The portions are on the larger side. I had enough for a second meal later in the day. Yes, it was so good I couldn’t wait to eat the rest. Usually I save left overs for the next day.

Since I got this food to go, I’ll keep my review rating to just rate the food. The parking is pretty bad with only about 8 parking spots, but at least they have do have dedicated parking. I showed up at 9 am and the parking lot only had one space left just for me. There was already several people inside eating. Even more came and went while I waited.

The interior needs a full make over in my opnion, but it’s all fairly functional. Also their drinking water situation was confusing as they didn’t even off me water with my meal. Maybe that was my fault. I originally asked for my food to go but mentioned that I was so hungry I was gonna eat some as soon as they handed it to me. So they decided to give it to me on a dine in plate.

Don’t come for a fancy date night or even to impress anyone. Unless you explain the interior design situation ahead of time…. it’s like eating at an old uncle or grandparents house.

Their service is fairly average, but the employees are a super chill vibe. A lot of customers had very lengthy conversations with the teller regardless if they were ordering, just hanging out, or already done eating.

Honestly I’ve been thinking about going back all week. Next time I’m in the area, stopping in for a plate will be a must.

The name of the place has changed so is ownership. Used to be Salama.

Now it is Aaran. There is big improvement.

Acceptable quality Somali food, if this type of cusinie appeals to you

It is a Somali restaurant standards, including hygiene, and tradition, and there is big difference between American standards of Hygiene, and Somali Standards of Hygiene

Good friendly owner.
Large portions
Reasonable prices.
Parking is still that little tiny parking

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. It was my first time eating Somali food and it was quite tasty and flavorful. Customer service was excellent. Yulis answered any questions and made great recommendations on what to try.

I really enjoyed my first time eating goat. Food was amazing and most of all the owner was very engaging in a way that brought us home away from home. I recommend this restaurant to all cultures looking for a new taste that gives fresh comforts. They also uber eat just another added element to why I give 5 stars.

Really great staff and good food. Only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because even though the food was good, i expected it to be more rich in flavor. I ordered their sugar chicken. Their green sauce is AMAZING but is extremely spicy, if they could make that less spicy, I would come more often. I’m still going to come back and try other dishes. I definitely recommend giving the place a try, you just might love it.
