The food was incredibly distasteful. If I could give it zero stars, I would. I had to throw all of my tray away and only had 2 bites because of how bad it tasted. I really wanted to like it because I’m always passing it since it’s down Jackson and super convenient but I don’t think I’ll ever be back. 🙁 the inside is nice though, the service was below average. What a waste of money!

Recently visited Avanti Caffe for the first time and it certainly won’t be my last. I ordered the Avanti Classico Italian sub with a bag of chips and a drink. The bread was perfectly crispy and chewy and the Italian meats were fresh and plentiful.

Friendly, efficient staff. Owner is cool too. Great food. Lasagna, biscotti both very good.

Food was absolutely delicious. Their pasta sauce has a hint of sweetness that was great. Service was friendly and fast. Lastly, the vibe of the place is nice. There were people having their casual work lunch, but also a family having a nice sit-down meal.

Seems to be a downtown favorite. Decent crowd. Great options. I ordered the panini and mocha ice coffee. Both were good. It was my first time. I’d go back when in that downtown area.

Well this is a step up from eating at Luke’s sandwich shop across the street ambience Wise It’s not a hole in the wall it’s more bougie and trendy. The service was much more friendly although I paid a little more and also I ordered a little more for my lunch. My main order was the meat lasagna which came with salad and drink but I didn’t care for the salad I wanted a soup of the day. It was either minestrone or pasta fagioli soup. I went for the pasta fagioli soup which was tomato based light minestrone but had beans. It was actually delicious. I then moved on and ordered since I had a craving for arancini. It was good too I ordered the meat base one versus the spinached one. We separate the marinara or the tomato based sauce which tasted fresh. And it wasn’t heavy. Most homemade arancini it’s almost like a meal and it’s heavy because I already ordered lasagna but it was delicious and light as an extra appetizer. The meat lasagna was actually very delicious but she’s tasted fresh the sauces taste the fresh it’s like a step up from Sbarro’s lasagna from the mall. It comes with a complimentary bread. I was surprised how big the portion of tiramisu is but I guess if you paid $5.95 for tiramisu and can eat large portion . When I’m in the mood for Italian American I’ll come back here instead of Lukes. four out of five stars because of how they separated just like ordering a lot of food into two trays but now I know how large their portions are so I’ll be okay with one

Super fun little stop for lunch. Soup; pasta fagioli and minestrone, veggie frittata, cannoli and a bottle of san pellegrino. Staff was super friendly, restaurant was clean. Not busy at 1:45pm on a Wednesday during spring break. Right in the midst of the financial district of Chicago. Easy to walk to from our hotel. Would recommend for a quick bite to eat.

Guy at the counter and the ambience was nice. Great location for folks to get a quick bite to eat in downtown.
Ordered the portabello tostino and friend ordered the penne in pesto pasta with grilled chicken. Pasta was cold after being heated and flavorless. Gave it back to have it reheated but threw most of it away cause of lack of taste. And the bread was extremely dry.
Ordered a latte that had a slightly burnt taste.

Sandwiched (duly) in the pocket of Jackson right under the Quincy CTA, this cozy family owned stop not only has a toasty menu of ready-made pizza, cannolis, and fresh subs to boast, but a rewards program (with members card) and daily offerings to boost the lunch appeal!

Janet’s my go-to for Chicago-tier service, and a good friend to make if you work the Tower district

the cannoli is not worth the money. there was a slight crunch but it was not as crispy as it should be. the flavor of the filling was off. the chocolate sprinkles were super sweet and they masked a lot of the flavor of the whole thing. it felt like they tried to use the toppings to save the flavor and it overpowered the cannoli resulting in nothing other than disappointment. the atmosphere in the establishment was fine, there were no bathrooms available for paying customers.
