Blackened halibut was tender yet had a burnt taste. Both portion sizes were medium to small. The shrimp pol boy was crispy. Bread was regular – nothing to write home about. The side salad was colorful and fresh. The fries were mid. Prices were high for the food.

I went here for a late breakfast and although full had no issues getting a seat and being served quickly. I opted for the reindeer omelette and they allowed me to get an English muffin as my bread option.

You order from the counter and serve your own drinks. Food was brought out fresh, but it isn’t “fast food”. The staff is friendly and efficient. Good breakfast choice in downtown Anchorage.

We were going to go to the Snow City Cafe but an hour wait was to much
we found this place just around the corner. The place was busy but we got a seat for four. You order at the counter and they serve it to you. My French toast was just OK, my wife makes it a lot better. Not saying it was inedible because it want bad by any means. The BLT was great according to my son in law. My wife’s omelot was OK she didn’t care for how they cooked the egg. My daughters omelot was OK. Will we go back? Probably not. Since we only come to Alaska once a year and we try lots of places out.

The Sandwich Deck is unpretentious and a regular diner atmosphere but has good food and generous portions at reasonable prices. The owner is laconically friendly and helped us translate Kiwi into American prices.

Nice local sandwich shop! We were walking by and noticed this and stopped by, and were glad we did. The sandwiches were delicious, and the service was friendly. It was an order at the counter service, and they serve you.

I got the blackened halibut sandwich, and my husband got a turkey melt, and both were delicious. Definitely recommend this place!

This is my go to spot for breakfast & lunch in downtown. Love the chill vibes, always greeted with a smile. Classic – no fuss diner, kid friendly & gluten free friendly. Love the wrap around windows. Huge menu, outstanding service, affordable & great portions. 10/10 for us.

Strolling through Downtown Anchorage on a gloomy Saturday morning and we stumbled upon the Sandwich Deck. We decided to stop for breakfast.

Walking in, they were relatively busy but seemed to be getting orders out well. The guy who took our order was very friendly.

I ordered the French Toast with eggs & bacon and my sister got the Sausage Muffin breakfast sandwich. Everything was super tasty! The French toast was super good and I also tried the sandwich, it was great too!

Overall, if you’re in need of a quick breakfast while in Downtown Anchorage, Sandwich Deck is one I’d recommend!

Pop quiz! Is there such a thing as too much halibut when you’re in Anchorage? Absolutely not! But, if you’ve had one too many halibut sandwiches, head over to the Sandwich Deck. I’ve been in and out of Anchorage more times and I can count. This has got to be by far the best sandwich shop in downtown Anchorage. Their sandwiches are absolutely delicious, the staff is friendly, and the coffee is hot.
The sandwich deck also has an awesome breakfast menu. Burger on the brain? They’ve got that covered also.
This afternoon, I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich and a cup of coffee. Delicious!
Finally, yes, have a halibut sandwiches are on the menu!

This cute little corner shop packs a tasty punch.
The burger was delicious, well seasoned and topped with LTOP. It was absolutely my favorite thing that I got.
The fries were standard krinkle cut, nothing special, and needed salt.
The meat and cheese on my turkey melt were fresh and tasted deli style but I was NOT a fan of the pesto, it was just an overwhelming basil taste, nothing else.
The sourdough was nice and fresh. Not crunchy like artisianal but more of a sandwich bread type.
Would definitely eat here again.

Good food, reasonable price, excellent service.

Though the exterior and interior or not fancy it is very clean. You order at the counter and service was immediate. The crew was very friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed everything we ordered and it was exactly what we were looking for.

This is not fine dining but if you are looking for a solid & tasty breakfast or lunch this is a great place to get exactly that.

Completely different clientele then some bigger name places close by. This is downtown and we saw a lot of people working in the government buildings or other shops ducking in to grab a coffee or some breakfast.

Very much more of a local place with minimal tourists or pretence.
