Server was friendly and attentive, but she didn’t understand that I was trying to get more veggies instead of more carbs, so I ended up with a dish I didn’t really want bc she said it had veggies and it didn’t look anything like the photo. (Tilapia was not flavorful and texture was passable, but seemed steamed, as well as shrimp). I’m biased bc I don’t really like tilapia so it was okay for what it was. I really wanted cod but they don’t carry that. She said it’s bc the fish is too big to fry – didn’t quite understand that so just chalked it up to a supply issue. She was nice though and tried her best.
Flan has dulce de leche in it so it’s sweeter than I like, so had to take it home to eat later bc already had too many carbs. I prefer just a plain homemade custardy/eggy slightly sweet flan if you ever want to put that on the menu. Would love it if y’all could do wild caught salmon or cod fish options as well and larger portions of veggies instead of rice for us with insulin resistance issues.
If we come back, it will be for the festive atmosphere and for karaoke. The pina colada looked good and the margaritas – not sure if they are made fresh or from powder so would try that to see next time. They do have enchiladas on their menu and other Mexican foods like ceviche. Would love to se a more colorful dish with pickled red onions and other bright veggies like the broccoli/carrots (big portion) with fried cod. Thanks for listening.
Couldn’t distinguish between the bones and the fish itself.
The appetizer was good and the service.
