came here for breakfast for the first time today and had a fantastic experience.

first of all, the food was delicious. we got the ny steak and omelette and both dishes were flavorful and cooked well.

and the service here was absolutely stellar. ginger was the server who helped my table and she was very (but not overly) attentive and so kind! she definitely made our experience enjoyable and pleasant 🙂

the decor is cute and quaint too. gr8 atmosphere and vibes~

can’t wait to come back again! highly recommend this spot.

The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. I’m gluten free and they had both bread and buns available but were not super knowledgeable about cross contamination, so there is a risk there. I choose fresh berries instead of fries with the Monte Cristo sandwich as a result. My husband had corned beef hash and eggs with regular toast.

Awesome experience at this location! WOW! We loved it, party of two on a Saturday around 9:15 am.

Parking can be hectic especially during peak hours, but if you wait a little bit, you’ll find a spot. Be patient!

Outside and inside seating available, plenty of space. They have live shows outside in the evenings I believe.

Customer service was above and beyond, you can feel the warm and homey feeling as the staff interacts with all the customers, especially the regulars!

We will be making this our Saturday morning spot, we don’t mind the drive from Lake Forest (about 30 minutes) to Costa Mesa.

Love the family and chill vibe here. Our waitress was very kind, professional, and attentive!

Coffee was really good, I was surprised. And very pleased with the quality of the food. My wife really enjoyed her chilaquiles, and I enjoyed my french toast combo.

A nice and relaxing breakfast!

Our waitress, Madeleine, said to us before we left “You two look like you have the joy of the Lord with you.” What a kind gesture! We try to be faithful Christians as we give glory to the Lord through our day!

It is rare to find a small hometown cafe. Dick Church has been around in the same location as long as I can remember however I haven’t visited in several years.

Yesterday I stopped by and to my surprise the food and atmosphere we’re still fantastic. A lot of locals still greeting their favorite waitress with a respectful response to all.

Even though the place is out of small makeover, it still has the cozy hometown atmosphere that’s easily enjoyed and the food is good.

A really delicious breakfast option in Costa Mesa. I would not really call it a diner because it is a bit more upscale than that. It does have a very 1960s, early 70s vibe to it which I loved. Inside is very large and there are many different rooms with different seating options. They also have indoor and outdoor seating. There’s a large free parking lot attached so we were able to find a space a few feet from the door. Our server was extremely polite and everything that we ordered came out faster than expected.

They have a very large menu with all sorts of classic dishes on it, but there’s enough variety that you will be able to try different items during each visit. I started off with a cup of the Chili and thought it was surprisingly good. It had a very hearty flavor to it, lots of meat, and it was seasoned really well. I also loved that they covered it in onions and overall I really enjoyed it. For my breakfast I chose the Country Fried Steak because I’ve only heard great things about it. I can confirm it is delicious and I would recommend. It was perfectly crispy, but not overly done, and was fair in size.

Overall, a really solid breakfast or lunch option if you are in the Orange County area.

We travelled back in time to this classic diner. Wife and I had read a favourable review for their Chicken Fried Steak, so we ordered and shared that. Oh wow. Perfectly made with a side of hashbrowns grilled up with peppers and onion and a couple of over-easy eggs. It was SO good! We followed up by sharing a piece of blueberry pie and ice cream. Friendly waitress and cook, we thoroughly enjoyed it!

We had a large family gathering on the private back patio. Arranging the gathering with the restaurant team went smoothly and the event was a success! We loved the food and atmosphere.

Church’s has some bomb breakfast! As I can always go for breakfast, lunch & dinner with breakfast, they have a homemade corn beef hash that I always look for at every breakfast spot. This one has been the best from all the spots I’ve been to at Orange County so far, which has been at least a dozen. Even their avocado toast is very good. Although adding eggs to your meal is pricey as that is one con as they are $3.00 to add one extra egg. So with two, in some places, you’ve already bought a dozen eggs at the store. But the pro is, the portions are a good size to not wanting more, but also not over stuffing yourself to gluttony. Staff here are all wonderful people. And sometimes it’s not all about how good the food is, but having an inviting place to be and to always have positive happy energy will make it a place to go for leaving with a positive and happy mental attitude.

Go to Church(‘s) on Sunday! I come to Costa Mesa twice a year for the Costa Mesa Guitar Show and the NAMM Show. I have figured out that my best hotel options are always in Costa Mesa, so I stay there. I have tried a variety of restaurants, but never this one. I typed it in tried it, must to my joy. Church’s is friendly , clean and serves great food at a reasonable price. I have eaten similar meals at area restaurants at near double the price. I even met people there that I already hope to keep in touch with. I could go on and on, you get the drift. I plan to hit this restaurant every time I am in the area. You should too. The service and parking are excellent. Thanks for a great experience Dick Church’s!
