First time visiting Guicho’s in Carpinteria, CA, and it did not disappoint! I had the Chicken Marsala for lunch absolutely delicious.

The portion size was just right, filling without being too heavy. Huge thanks to the cooks; they were fast, efficient, and clearly know what they’re doing. I’ll definitely be back!

I saw Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes coming out of the apparel store next to them as I was enjoying my meal in the outdoor seating area. I said, “Hey, Ryan.” And he replied, “What’s up, dude.” My girlfriend was like, “ohh.. ive seen ‘The Notebook'” and she was pleasantly surprised. She had an eggplant sandwich and I had the meatball sandwich. They were good.

Absolutely delicious eggplant sandwich!! My friend really loved his meatball sandwich. We both thought the bread was soooo good! The only thing is I wish the eggplant sandwich also came with marinara sauce. Oh! Good prices – great value.

The food is an insult to your taste buds. The sauce was all water, the tomatoes were flavorless, and the pasta completely limp… all served in a box. I am honestly impressed with their ability to create an absence of any flavor whatsoever. Granted, the wine was descent and a heavy pour, albeit served in a plastic cup. The garlic bread was decent. I would excuse this place if it was a cafeteria for the style but even cafeteria food tends to have more flavor. And for the price? Avoid this tourist trap.

Bar none! Delicious spaghetti with yyuuggee meatballs to die for! I haven’t had delicious spaghetti with meatballs in a very, very look time like that. The staff were courteous and they were always available. Such an underrated place to eat. Everyone! This is a MUST go there to eat delicious Italian food!

Light, airy, high-ceilinged space with statement light fixtures that would intrigue pretentious types who believe themselves to be at the avant-garde of all things lighting+design, but hey, we are here mostly for the food, right?

And the food MacReeves and I enjoyed on a quiet Linden Ave Friday night was chef’s kiss if your chef is into simple yet scrumptious seafood pasta that is perfectly sauced and delightfully al dente.

The fettuccine was our favorite by a hair because of its luscious yet not heavy cream sauce. The linguine was also delicious and featured shrimp and bay scallops in a light tomato-based sauce. Yummy garlic bread accompanied the pasta in a little paper packet.

My regrets about the meal? Even dine-in customers are served food in paper boxes and cups. Aesthetically and ecologically, that’s an unfortunate business decision. Secondly, the shrimp were over-cooked and lost the texture and flavor that could’ve taken both dishes over the top. Finally, the cold garlic bread could use a quick pass through the oven.

Small but important details signal to customers that the food and its presentation are as important as your lighting choices. Even so, I will return for yummy pasta.

Tab was about $45 before tip for two Pellegrino, a plastic cup of red wine and two pastas. Probably a little steep for counter-order, disposable dishes atmosphere, but not unfair considering the cost of doing business. Service was pleasant and efficient.

This place is great, and I would highly recommend.
The ingredients are high quality and the food is prepared with care.
Had the grilled eggplant sandwich, and it was phenomenal. I’m usually not one to gush about veggie options, but this was a memorable sando done right. Salad was super fresh, service friendly and outside seating pleasant.
Next time we’re back in Carp, will return for more

A relatively new eatery along Linden, the main drag of Carpinteria. I had to go find some things in my favorite antique shop Homestead and passed this place on the way. The cooking smells were divine.
Decided to go light for dinner and this was an excellent choice. It could have been blah, but it was SO good. Full of fresh yummy flavors. The prices are reasonable ($11 for this dish), the staff was charming. Inside and outside dining.

Very simple but good, not a huge menu which gives them a chance to concentrate on what they serve, I’ve had 3 pasta dishes all perfectly Al dente. Homemade sausage sandwich and grilled chicken salad hit just right.

Seeing others post pics of the Grilled Shrimp Salad made my mouth water, so decided to try it for myself! In short, it TASTED as good as it looked! Super fresh greens, sun dried tomatoes, white beans, and perfectly grilled shrimp! So delicious and only 10.95!

This place is a repeat for sure!
