It was crispy noodle type of day and I wanted one badly that day. I stumbled upon this low key Chinese restaurant. The entrance is at the back facing the parking lot. Next to the restaurant is a bar that seems to attract chunky dudes who likes motorcycles. Frankly the entrance looks a bit sus.
Upon stepping in you’ll recognize it to be quintessential family run Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood. Only thing missing is the obligatory owner’s child doing homework in a corner table lol.

The food is not bad and if you want to get take out, could be good. If you want to dine in just be warned that they have a B on there health code for a reason and it is because they do not clean well, their tables or dishes. Really hope the owners see this review because they have a restaurant with decent food, but they need to work on their cleaning and buy a better dish washer. Also get some music, atmosphere would be way better with a basic hidden speaker somewhere instead of dead silence.

They have a B rating for their restaurant, if I had known that before ordering I would’ve avoided this place entirely. The good ratings fooled me into believing this food was going to be better but unfortunately it’s pretty mediocre and I spent 60$ on 3 entrees and white rice. Not worth it. Keeping it real.

The culinary treasures that await inside are well worth venturing past the back door. Golden City is the perfect spot for a casual weeknight dinner or a weekend family meal. It has that authentic, neighborhood Chinese food place vibe that’s hard to find these days. I’ll definitely be back for more!

Golden City is my go to spot when I am in the valley. I usually get the crispy pork chops (lunch special). I also had the egg flower soup but I was a bit disappointed. Make sure you say hi to Spencer he is one of the servers.
