Finally a place selling a smashburger that actually gives you a smash burger! Thin, crispy patties with perfect topping, sauce, and bun. We also got the whipped ricotta, which was also fantastic. Drink selection is great. Chicken wings were delicious but I wish they were tossed in the sauces as opposed to just drizzled on. Staff was super quick bringing any orders over. Plenty of seating and good vibes overall. Will absolutely be coming back here.

I was underwhelmed. Part of me likes how everything is self-serve, but we weren’t even welcomed in at all. No option to customize anything on their menu. Viewing the tap menu from your phone is irritating because you have to go through and click on each beer. The smash burger was really good. Fries were just average. Met some cool people (other customers). Waited 20 minutes for a Sprite and had to ask for it twice after putting in my order.

EDIT: and we spent $80

It took 1.5 hours to get our food today. I ordered a smash burger and every bite was burnt (activated charcoal burnt). Curry fries were the saving grace of this utterly disastrous meal (and they were lukewarm). I try to be understanding of third spaces but this place was OVERRUN by children. Seriously, at least two kids to every adult ratio. I’m writing this from the cookout drive thru

Best pork rinds I’ve had in a while. Fresh and seasoned well. Curry fries are also yum. Will try other menu items soon.

Ordering was rediculious, as they want you to order from your phone. It’s difficult to navigate.no one tells you as you have no waitress, the condiments are on a shelf that you get your self, it’s like hide and seek.
I hope the owners read this review.
Smashed burgers were burnt, how do you burn a hamburger patty. The turkey Rachel was ok per my wife. Kids chicken tender my son said wasn’t that good. Fried chicken sandwich had no flavor. The mushroom appetizer was about as terrible as it comes for an appetizer. The The bartender needs to be in the kitchen as he has no personal skills to deal with the public

Delicious food, quick and kind service, solid vibes! Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes. Love the non-alcoholic beverage options. Plenty of parking and lots of open space for any size group.

Not a huge variety of food, so we all ended up ordering chickens tenders and smash burgers. They were AMAZING!!! The tenders are well seasoned. My husband loved his smash burger. The watermelon daiquiri was great and the sangria. We came in as a family of 11 and there was plenty of space for us. The employees were so kind to us. Next time we will try the desserts

How much do I love Lakewood Social? Let me count the ways…

1. Great food at reasonable prices. They have outstanding sandwiches (the breakfast sandwich and grilled cheese are excellent!), solid salads (I desperately miss their Caesar salad, which was perhaps my favorite salad in the Triangle), and tasty starters (love the aioli with their perfectly cooked fries, ricotta is also great!). Don’t sleep on their chicken tenders, either.

2. Excellent drinks (and they change them up!). You can never go wrong with their margaritas, and I love that they always have some sort of tiki-themed cocktail on the menu. They also have great mocktails (especially the pink peppercorn Paloma). They have an excellent selection of wines by the bottle, as well, which you can take home or drink there ($8 corkage, which is truly a steal).

3. Family friendly. I love going here with or without kids. With kids, I sit outside so kids can run around (supervised) and play with the toys generously provided by Lakewood. Without kids, I sit inside near the bar for a still lively but less kid-focused experience.

4. Wonderful staff. From the owner Joel who is always around to each server or bartender, everyone has been super helpful and friendly (to adults and kids!).

5. Plenty of seating and no need for reservations. This is a great spot for a spontaneous group get together!

6. Order at your table or at the bar. I personally love QR code ordering (especially with a group), but for those that don’t, you can easily order with a person at the bar.

7. Gives back to the community! They feature a local nonprofit every month in addition to partnering with local groups on in-restaurant activities. I’ve seen them offer space for gatherings, host fairs, and spotlight artwork from local groups. Always a fan of folks that give back!

I’m sure there’s more I’m leaving out, but Lakewood Social is definitely 5 stars in my book.

I liked the layout and selection of beer and bourbon. I liked my burger and fries. My wife’s Korean burger was a bit salty.
