Great BBQ and sauce !!! Loved the side salad and fried green tomatoes,,,,,the BBQ plate was awesome,,,,not the usual chopped BBQ but in pieces ,,,I liked it that way :),,,liked with the sweet sauce and hot sauce combined,,,,the brisket was very good also altho it could have been cooked more ,,,,house made red potatoes were good but would have been better with seasoning and crispier,,,,I will be back ,,,,5 stars for the best pork plate in the area !!

The brisket and pulled pork are amazing. Portions are big. The food arrived quickly and was hot and delicious. The waitress was super friendly and the drink refills kept coming. This is hands down the best barbecue in the area!

I hate to write this review. I’ve been coming here a long time, gotten good service, decent food. The specials are delish. Today, however, Charlie, the server, decided (for the second time in a month) to sit in my booth the entire time and just blab on about his life while I just wanted to sit there in peace. He also said some inappropriate things, not “directly” at me, but underhanded. Also some racist comments. It ticked me off so bad, I won’t be going back. I know it’s boring in there, but, I’m there to eat and blow off steam from work- not be your sit-down pal. It’s unfortunate. He seemed like a nice person, but a restaurant is not only its food, but its people and ambiance. I can ignore slighted comments toward me, but being a racist? You can Kiss My A**.

Low key place with really good brisket. They did steal the name of the place behind the Wing Bone, The Yorkville Kitchen which is even more low-key and has better BBQ.

As someone who has been to a large number of restaurants that claim to know how to cook various meats, I have to say, Matt Meares puts them all to shame. I am generally considered by many to be a meatatarian.
His brisket scares me. It is just too good! And his pulled pork barbeque has ruined me at all other restaurants. Places I thought that knew how to cook BBQ, I can’t stomach anymore, as they don’t even hold a candle to Matt’s.
And if he ever brings back his Mac and Cheese, order it. Order it by the barrel.
