This coffee shop is such a gem! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, the staff are always kind and attentive, and the drinks are consistently delicious. The pastries are fresh, the coffee is smooth and rich, and you can tell they put so much thought and care into everything they serve and offer! One of my favorite parts is the cute back porch—it’s the perfect little spot to relax, sip your drink, catch up with friends, read a good book, and enjoy the day. Definitely one of my favorite places to start the morning or unwind in the afternoon!

Backgrounds has the best coffee around! I live 30 minutes away, but I’ve made many trips to Corning just for Backgrounds, because the coffee is THAT good. They offer online ordering and curbside pickup so I don’t even have to leave my car! I love bringing my laptop in to get some work done too. The environment is so cozy and welcoming, and Im always greeted with a friendly face behind the counter. I love that I can purchase espresso beans to make my own drinks at home—although they never taste as good as when I order them at Backgrounds!

The BEST coffee shop in the area! They have a fun variety of coffee, teas, and other fun drinks! The atmosphere is extremely welcoming and the staff is so helpful! I love looking through the products being sold that showcase the local talent. We make a point to go to Backgrounds every time we’re in Corning visiting family! Cannot recommend enough!!

We go to Backgrounds EVERY time we’re in Corning! The littles get an Italian soda (not too sweet!) and the rest of us try something different every time because there are SO MANY choices! We love shopping the locally sourced gifts, too. Favorites: iced mocha with English toffee; hot mocha with marshmallow; ANY soda; many books and a wonderful lavender bar soap!

This is the only local coffee shop I will go to! I get their amazing, fresh roasted beans for my at home coffee. They even grind them for me. They have several options like coffee, Alani Nu specialty drinks, espresso, soda, slushies, and delicious teas!
You can also shop here for local honey, cleaning products, candles, pecans, skincare, and more. They can make just about anything you can think up.
Also, if you want to get your hair or nails done then the salon is connected as well! This is a place where the baristas know you by name and feel like a friend. They have wifi so you can work remotely with your favorite drink or meal. I love this place!
