We found the Chick N Stick while looking for a non-chain restaurant that was open on a Sunday.
Located in Picayune, MS, this local eatery is worth a stop if you’re anywhere in the vicinity.
My sister had the fried shrimp po-boy, which was served on a soft, toasted Hoagie roll with a mountain of sweet, lightly cornmeal battered shrimp. They were outstanding.
The greens and cornbread that came with my breaded pork chop were excellent as well. The cornbread was hot out of the oven, and the greens were tender and juicy.
The prices are very reasonable and the menu is extensive.

The BEST food in town! Everything is made fresh in house and the absolute best home-cooked food you will have in Picayune.
And the greens are sooo DELICIOUS, The best I’ve had since my grandmaw was living. Definitely would recommend eating here.

Hidden gem of a place. The food is awesome and very nicely priced. I had the chicken dinner and it is the best fried chicken I have ever had.

First time here. Chicken Parmesan was fantastic and a very nice portion. Wife said the fish with two sides (fries and potato salad) was slamming good and she made two meals out of it. Will definitely be back.

This place is amazing! They’ve got exactly what you’re looking for. Wings, soulfood, pasta dishes, and southern favorites. Had the garlic parmesan wings (which are fried), some mac & cheese and the Hawaiian shrimp. Everything was so damn good. Definitely going back. These mom & pop type places are my favorite & this one did not disappoint. They were open for indoor dining, though did bring it out to the car for us when it was ready (due to Covid-19) for curbside pick up after ordering.

First time my husband and I came to this restaurant. We were pleased that they are open on Sundays! We absolutely loved it. We were immediately greeted by Charles at the door. He told us about their most popular menu items and was very friendly and welcoming. I got the cajun pasta and my husband got the surf n turf fries, which were gone in about 1 minute flat because they were so delicious. The portions are much larger than expected which is always a plus. We will definitely be returning regularly and can’t think of one bad thing to say. Five stars!

Absolutely amazing food! My wife, son and I stopped in on our way to New Orleans and it was a great find. The family running the restaurant really made you feel welcome and like you were part of their family. Couldn’t recommend enough! Hoping to stop by on our way out later this week

Nice people and amazing soul/country/creole food. Better than what you can get at many places in NOLA, and for a much better price. Definitely a hidden gem worth supporting. They know how to fry the okra crispy and not mushy, and all the other stuff was good too. Hamburger steak on point. They even have the option to pay more for the wings to get all drums (one bone) or flats (two bones). Huge list of sides, including veggies and fries topped with pretty much whatever. Git u some! Nothing at all that we tried was bad, and the server was attentive and made sure we enjoyed our food and experience. Don’t let the name fool you. There is a lot more to this place than chicken on a stick (though I wish I had tried that also).
