I’m not going to lie, the food was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC so if that’s what you want to know you can stop reading the review right here.
I don’t know if it’s just the restaurant’s policy or if it’s a personal choice that the waitress made but, as I was finishing my meal the portion of the entree exceeded the portion of the rice. And because it was so good I asked for a little extra rice and ended up being charged for a side order of rice that was $4. That’s the price of 4 lbs of rice at the Kroger, for a scoop of plain white rice. Which brought my total for an appetizer an entree and water to 43 bucks, so I took it out of the tip. I’m not cheap and I’m traveling on a food voucher for business so I get reimbursed, but that’s just bullshit.
So once again I want to reiterate I have no complaints about the food. It was absolutely fantastic and I recommend it.

We had a wonderful time at Thai Rice this evening with 6 other people. The restaurant was full of oh’s and ah’s this evening. The restaurant & service is wonderful especially in a clean restaurant. We talked this Thai food up… telling everyone how delicious the food is. Michael & I always order the Papaya Salad and the crab fried rice. We just started adding pineapple to it. The Umami is outstanding. I didn’t get photos of every one’s plates. I can just tell you we had the some of the favorites. Thank you for making us comfortable & Kate you always provide great service.

The most sublime service here from start to finish, as well as some of the best crab rangoon I’ve tried recently. Presentation was noteworthy and prices were very fair. Comfortable decor, kid friendly, with an appropriately sized menu that emphasizes quality. Loved the cashew sprinkle on the side offered for my pad Thai, and the potstickers were uniquely delectable. Sometimes I can get a “recently reheated from a freezer bag” vibe at similar places- but that was absolutely not the case here. Warm atmosphere, decently quiet, perfect for a long conversation with a friend. I would return any time!

Mom and I went to Thai Rice Restaurant for lunch on the recommendation of a good friend, and we are so glad we did! This hidden gem is located in University Town Plaza on Davis Highway—you won’t see it from the street, but trust me, it’s worth driving into the plaza to find.
This family-owned restaurant has such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The owners truly make you feel at home, with Mom and Dad cooking in the kitchen while their son and daughter-in-law take care of guests. They are incredibly friendly, and their hospitality makes the experience even better.
We had the pleasure of meeting Chef Nuoy (apologies if I misspelled her name!), and she took the time to chat with my mom in Thai. My mom is very particular about Thai food—being Thai herself—but she was truly impressed by the flavors and authenticity.
We ordered:
✅ Papaya Salad (Lao style) – fresh, bold, and flavorful
✅ Beef Jerky & Sticky Rice – perfectly seasoned and delicious
✅ Boat Noodle Soup (2 orders) – rich broth, tender meat, and just the right spice level
Everything was absolutely delicious! If you’re looking for authentic Thai food with fantastic service, look no further. This is a must-visit in Pensacola, and we will definitely be back to support this wonderful local business. Highly recommend!

This place is hidden between Pounders and Taylor’s. So delicious! The yellow curry was amazing, though I’ll turn the heat down a little next time. We got wings as an appetizer. They weren’t very flavorful on their own, but were good with the dipping sauce. Crab Rangoon was delicious. The staff was quiet, but super nice. It took a bit for the food to come out, but it looks like they have a very small kitchen. Definitely worth the wait.

I love Thai food. I love everything about it. My bestie Christine and I were in the mood for good Thai food and are we glad all roads led us here.
For starters, the customer service is top notch, they truly want you to have a good experience. I ordered the cucumber salad. Who would have thought that something so simple could be so delicious and refreshing. There was a hint of sweetness that was delicious, not too sweet but really good. With the addition of red onions it was a great appetizer.
I ordered the Thai basil chicken stir fry and added shrimp to it. The shrimp were plump and juicy, with rice it was a complete meal. I ordered my dish Thai hot but it was not spicy at all. When I mentioned it they brought out the seasoning for me to add and it really took the spice to the next level. Delicious.
My friend had the stir fry chicken with shrimp and cashews, it was delicious. She didn’t add extra spice because she’s not a crazy chili head like me. I had hot green tea to round out my meal, what an awesome day.
Let’s talk about the service. The server patiently explained everything to us and never rushed us to order. Not only did our server check on us throughout our meal but so did the management. I have never felt so pampered but also not rushed in any way. It was such a wonderful experience, I would eat there every day if I could.
Please, let’s patronize businesses like Thai Rice, because they not only offer a quality service but they truly care about the consumer. I will DEFINITELY be back.
