There is a new Asian restaurant in the Roundwood Shopping Center called Dragon 88. Friends had told us about the change in ownership and décor of the previous Chinese restaurant, and we wanted to give it a try. We decided to meet friends for lunch. This restaurant, as did the prior one, does a huge carry-out business. The interior of the restaurant has been completely updated with fresh colors. Stephanie, our hostess and server, explained that they have been open for about 5 months, but dine in for about two months. Their new menu is quite extensive. BYOB with no corkage fee is always welcomed. They offer 26 different items for lunch at $11.95, that all include a vegetable Spring Roll and Fried Rice. Lunch is served from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM. The regular menu includes Appetizers, Soups, Dumplings, Moos Shu, Egg Foo Young, Pork, Chicken, Beef, Seafood, Vegetarian dishes, Chef’s Specials, Chow Fun/Mei Fun, Lo Mein/Chow Mein, Fried Rice, Pad Thai, Drunken Noodle, Yaki Udo, and Pineapple Fried Rice. As you can see, there is something for everyone.
They start you off with a bowl of crispy wontons with a sweet/sour sauce. Being that it was so cold outside, we all had Jasmine Tea, which warmed us up nicely. We all ordered from the Lunch Special Menu. We enjoyed the Chicken Chow Mein, Sesame Chicken (upcharge $2.00 for white meat), Shrimp with Broccoli and Shrimp with Mixed Vegetables. Each dish came with your choice of white or fried rice along with a vegetable Spring Roll. The portions were just the right size for lunch. I ordered a bowl of Wonton Soup, and my husband also had a Shrimp Roll. The food was nicely prepared and presented. What can we say, we were all pleased with our lunches. We will definitely be coming back and telling all of our friends and family about Dragon 88.

We had an incredible birthday celebration at this restaurant with 12 people! The service was phenomenal and the food was delicious. Both owners came out personally and were involved in our meal and provided excellent service. The ginger scallops were particularly good along with the pineapple fried rice. Everything was fresh and it was just a very nice overall experience. Definitely recommend it.

This was my first time dining at Dragon 88 and I was completely impressed by the overall experience. Attentive service, amazing food and a personal touch added by the owners suggesting specials and signature dishes to sample. The chicken soup dumplings were delectable.

Ordered the Beef Pad Thai and asked for medium spice but it had zero spice. The portion was great but it was tasteless. The General Tsos chicken didn’t have enough sauce and half of the chicken balls were all hard coating with no meat inside. I didn’t care for the fried rice, egg roll or spring roll. These were bland also. I wasted about $50 on this food so I won’t be going back or recommending.

We ordered from Dragon 88 last night for the first time off Beyond Menu. Hands down one of the best restaurants in town. They were fast and my order was flawless. The food was still hot when it arrived to my home. We ordered the egg rolls, spring rolls, pancakes, crab Rangoon, shrimp egg foo young, Happy Family, and shrimp fried rice. We don’t have a single criticism. The gravy for the egg foo young was the best I’ve had. The egg foo young was fluffy and flavorful. Their appetizers (egg rolls, spring roll, pancake, and Rangoon) were superb. They don’t use too much ginger in their egg rolls which is something I usually experience. We have a new go to for this genre of cuisine. I didn’t add photos because we were dining at home and I didn’t want to use bad photos.

Benson was a rockstar! We were there on a Saturday night, a group of 12 for a birthday (with bags of BYOB alcohol) and they did an outstanding job! The food was the best Chinese food I’ve had in Maryland! And the service we experienced, particularly from Benson, was truly special. We were a loud and jovial group and they were wonderful! Highly recommend!

Based on other’s reviews, we had high hopes for this place. Ordered standard Chinese dishes for takeout. Food was just ok. General Tsos chicken had no flavor other than sweet despite many chili peppers in the sauce. Moo shu was too watery and they forgot to include the pancakes that are supposed to come with.

I came to Dragon 88 for lunch with my mother. She loves Chinese food, I usually find it boring. We each ordered a noodle dish, I had drunken noodles with shrimp, Mom had Pad Thai. We both thoroughly enjoyed our very flavorful and delicious meals. My lunch was a huge portion with plenty of shrimp, had fresh Thai basil and tender crisp bell peppers. The pad Thai was also a very large portion, traditional Thai flavors, fresh and delicious. We also enjoyed our starter of chicken fried dumplings and jasmine tea. The service was friendly and attentive. There is nothing boring about the food at Dragon 88 and I’m looking forward to going back very soon.
