The best authentic Chinese restaurant I’ve had. The owner is also the host, waiter, and cook. So, don’t come in expecting fast service because this gentleman takes pride in his work and it shows (and so worth it!). He is also extremely friendly and was very excited to see us come in. I strongly recommend the Hunan beef if you can tolerate spice, but the lo mein is very good as well.

Jim travelled to the US in the 70s, trained in San Francisco at Happy Palace, and became a citizen in the 80s. He raised two boys and cooks what may be the best traditional Chinese food I have ever had.
After losing his wife he runs the store by himself and is dedicated to his art and his family.
He is an amazing person and a wonderful host.
Do not be deceived by the appearance or the wait times (a one person operation takes time); go in sit down for a bit and have a wonderful experience.

It it’s a small family restaurant that has been in Casper since 1988. The owner Mr Fong was great. He served and cooked. Best authentic Chinese food in Casper in my opinion. My brother said it was the best Chinese food he had ever had. It wasn’t quick but well worth it. The restaurant is old and dated but who cares when the food is this good.

I ordered food for delivery tonight because the place I usually order from was closed. I was told it would take 30 minutes and an hour and a half later I still did not have my food. I was told when I ordered the fried wontons that the cheese was a little different than other places use but there was no cheese at all. The sweet and sour chicken and pork was way over cooked. It was very expensive for how poorly the food tasted and how long it took for the food to be delivered.
The only positive thing I can say is that the staff was very friendly and apologetic on the wait. They said they got lost on their way to my place. So I do understand that. But when I called an hour after I placed my order they said it wasn’t ready and would be going out in 10 minutes. So being lost wasn’t the reason for how long the food took to get to us.
I will definitely not order from there again.

Took my Mom here for her 72 birthday. We both ordered off the chef’s specials section of the menu. She ordered the Kung Pao King and I ordered the Twice Cooked Pork (I think that’s what it was called). Both had plenty of meat and fresh veggies, and the sauce for each entree was delicious – not too spicy despite the asterisk on the menu. We also ordered the “appetizer for two”, which came with two fried shrimp, four pork rangoons (at least that’s what I’m calling them), and two egg rolls. It also came with a dish of a seriously addicting red sauce that was slightly spicy and slightly sweet. The egg rolls were definitely the highlight. Oh, and there was egg drop soup as well, which was also very good. Lots of great food for a very reasonable price. Like others have said, there was a long wait despite there being only two other couples in the restaurant. That’s because the Ming House is run by one man. He’s a sweet old man who is extremely warm, gracious, and cheerful. The food was definitely worth the wait. I’m from Wisconsin but I’ll definitely return to the Ming House whenever I’m back in Casper visiting my Mom. And my Mom says she’ll return soon. For some reason not many Casperites have tried the Ming House even though it’s been in business for 30 years. More people need to give it a try, they won’t be disappointed.

This is such a hidden gem. If you like quality Cantonese/Hong Kong cuisine, this is the #1 spot in the state of WY. The gentleman who owns this restaurant is very unassuming and moved to the US years ago with his family. He runs the restaurant essentially by himself. It’s not very speedy, but it is very good. The owner/host/chef used to cook in the kitchen of a restaurant in a respected hotel in Hong Kong, and he brings that expertise to every dish. If there’s something you like in the southern style, ask him about it even if it’s not on the menu; he might be able to make it. 唔該!

Dont worry about how it looks outside…..bathrooms always very clean, interior small family run restaurant. My wife has traveled China, I have a Chinese Aunt and both my wife and I have eaten at best LA, NY, and San Francisco has to offer…..Mings niece told us when he first cane to USA all his training was in the restaurants in SF Chinatown. BEST ham fried rice we have ever had! Nice variety of dishes and we were not disapointed. Kung Pao, a garlic broccilli meat dish …they were very good and better than most restaurants we have eaten at anywhere in the midwest or rural west. NO this is not sweet american “Chinese” food or “Chinese fusion / bistro food”.

It is like, “Woah that guy doesn’t age!” Same owner (at the same location) as when I was 8 years old and I am now 47! He looks like he never ages! Something right out of the twighlight zone! He claims it is MSG that keeps him young! Wow! Even after his wife died he is doing the same thing and nothing ever changes. The restaurant looks the same.

This place is literally never open. I travel to Casper for work for 3-4 days every 5 weeks and in 6 months this place has never been open once when I’ve tried to go.
