Another great experience at The Portage House. It’s a quaint, well-appointed spot with a nice view of the river. We’ve eaten here on both sides of the ownership transition and it’s still excellent. It was a dreary evening outside but tasty inside. We started with the brussell sprouts (a veg I’ll admit I was traumatized by as a child) and they were rich, a little sweet, and delicious. My wife had the Strip and fries and I had the duck with greens and roasted potatoes. Both were prepared with attention to detail. Finished with the house made Nutella mousse, free since it was a birthday. No leftovers on this night. Service was impeccable. Mitch did a fine job and was very knowledgeable of menu. He was attentive but not hovering. Host was gracious and seated us at a nice upstairs window since the weather didn’t allow dining on the patio. Thanks PH for a wonderful birthday dinner for my bride.

I had the Flat Iron Steak and my husband ordered the Duck. Plus, we got the Truffle Fries as an appetizer & Créme Bruleé for dessert. Very tasty!

What a gem! Fantastic restaurant on the river with breathtaking views. It is a beautifully restored home with a quaint dining area and full bar. Food was first class. Got the Brussel sprouts and goat cheese appetizers and pulled pork sandwich. A must see if visiting the area!

We visited for our anniversary, but didn’t have a reservation. We arrived shortly after opening so it wasn’t busy for a Saturday, and the host acted like we needed a reservation at first and made a big show of seeing what he had available. The restaurant was empty and while it picked up while we were there, it still was by no means busy. We spent about $85 with tip, so it’s not like they lost money by seating us.

The atmosphere is really nice, they’ve done a nice job preserving the architecture of the old house. They also have a patio that seems like it would be nice if it were not downpouring like it was when we were there. I had the griddled meatloaf, which was good, but not the best I’ve ever had in my life. The potatoes and asparagus that came with it were fantastic. We also had the Korean fried broccoli for an appetizer and it was also amazing. My husband had the pulled pork and said he enjoyed it but he wasn’t sure if it was worth $16. Our waitress was also great and friendly and provided good service. They also have a decent wine list.

It seemed a little pretentious for what it was. I don’t know if we will visit again but we enjoyed our dinner.

This is a gem of Jeffersonville! Sweet old historic home converted into a charming little restaurant. The warm goat cheese dip with pretzel bread is worth the trip alone.

Food was ok. Service great but over my head on the ceiling was a huge moldy water damage. Just wasn’t appetizing..

Went because of a recommendation from a coworker. I was not disappointed. The BlackBerry Gin Sling was amazing. We order several appetizers and loved them all. The goat cheese and hush puppies were some of the best I’ve had. I ordered the hot sauce marinated fried chicken. It had the perfect crisp to it and seasoned expertly. The kale that came with it was also perfect.
We ordered dessert and they were a bit disappointing. I would highly recommend this place, just go somewhere else for dessert.
