It was my first time here and I got take out so I didn’t see any of my food until I got home I do not live close to Mt top. Im assuming the lady was the owner, I could be wrong. But when I saw they had wings as a special and she said that they are the big wings, I was thinking big and meaty, well, they are the actual wing. Mine we’re way over done, burnt, I couldn’t eat them, and if I would have known it was the actual wing, I wouldn’t have ordered them. I sent pictures along with my review. I also had a small side of macaroni and cheese, and the coleslaw both were homemade and good. Then a half rack of ribs that looked meaty, but I couldn’t get to the meat. It was surrounded by a lot of fat. You have your choice of sauce for the wings. I had a garlic BBQ sauce, and for the ribs I picked a sweet BBQ sauce. They are cooked plain. Put your own sauce on. I would rather have the ribs cooked in a sauce, but I gave it a try because I met my niece there, and she enjoyed the BBQ sandwich. I still give it another try if I was in that area again.

From meeting the owner to Samantha our waitress, what a fabulous place! The barbecue we had the combination plater, And Bob himself brought out some burnt tips. Amazing they are to die for. Wow! What experience the chicken had smoked flavor through and through the ribs, Fabulous smoked on site. Everything was fresh and hot service was fabulous. The beers were ice cold and frosted mugs. No complaints here for the price. Really worth every nickel for surviving through the covid pandemic. His little place is a classic and if you’re looking for the realest barbecue that you can find in Pennsylvania come to this place, definitely worth it! And we drove all the way from Wisconsin to enjoy this!

Amazing. I don’t know why I haven’t tried Bobs before now. Had the Po-Boy, pulled pork with slaw on Texas toast. Was like it just came off the smoker. Juicy and delicious. Everyone was really nice and welcoming. Reminded me of being in Georgia, true, real BBQ.

You Need To Know? If you like BBQ, if you like smoked meats, then you absolutely MUST try Butcher Bob’s! We arrived around 6:00 on a friday & we were able to seat ourselves. We ordered the Brunswick Stew, Burnt ends, a brisket cheesesteak, & 1/2 rack of ribs. The burnt ends also known as BBQ Candy was mouth watering & melted in your mouth. The rack of ribs were juicy & great with just the rub, but when you add one of the 7 sauces it takes it to an entirely new level. The Stew was a winter warmer. It’s hearty & filling & can serve as a meal. I would also like to add that the service from Amanda was as sweet as the BBQ sauce. She was so kind & helpful, her hospitality added to the southern BBQ vibe. Mt Top people need to become regulars! Now You Know! -TBH

Pennsylvania, not a state that i would normally associate with barbeque at all. Let alone, REAL TEXAS STYLE BBQ! Whaaat?! I think I’m still in a bit of shock.
What an excellent meal. Homemade mac and cheese, pork bbq beans, sweet glazed beef ribs (dry rub available) and BIG Texas Twinkies (that’d be cream cheese filled, bacon wrapped, jalapeno popping goodness to the un-initiated out there). Had a local brewed raspberry beer from
Susquehanna brewery. Never had it’s like before and it was very refreshing.
The barbeque is cooked fresh on the grill early each morning. There’s a patio area on an upper deck for seating if the mood takes you, or seating inside as well. Very comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful view. Eat in or carry out. I stayed and enjoyed the heck out of my meal. Took some to go, and couldn’t resist buying my own shirt with the ButcherBob slogan.
A couple slots alongside the main road to pull up out front in a 53′ Truck.
So cool. Glad i stopped. There’s hope for Pennsylvania yet. Good luck to Bob and crew in spreading that dog gone good BBQ!

A hidden GEM in NEPA. Definitely the best BBQ I’ve had in 20 years. The true definition of a mom and pop shop. Pulled Pork, Po Boys, “Cant Beat my meatloaf”, smoked chickens, racks of ribs, stuffed cherry peppers, housemade sauces and more. Smoked to perfection, seasoned with love, and served with passion.

Staff was very nice and regularly checked up on our table. Food was superrrr good and in my opinion better than mission bbq. I had the sampler and would get it again.

I wasn’t very happy with my meal or my appetizer.
The first two appetizers I ordered they didn’t have so I went with the bacon wrapped Kilbasa sausage. It was dry? And didn’t have much flavor.
The meal i order was called The Sampler. It came with brisket, 1/4 smoked chicken, pulled pork and two ribs and two sides. I got corn bread, which was amazing, and potato salad which was basic and bland.
The pulled pork was extra fatty and was tossed in a sauce already. I didn’t enjoy the flavor of the sauce and couldn’t really taste the pulled pork because of the amount of sauce.
The chicken was pretty most but I didn’t like the dry rub that coated the skin. The dry rub was pretty think and clumpy.
The ribs were about the size of my thumb and were extremely overcooked.
The brisket was dry and chewy.
The service was above and beyond. Very nice staff.
I live in Arkansas so maybe I’m just not familiar with Northern BBQ. It seemed like a popular joint and was highly recommended to me by the locals.

It was shared with me that the meatloaf is popular. I am not sure why, for me it was dry and the flavors seemed unbalanced. Also the cornbread was very dry too.
Furthermore, it cost $20. That seemed a little steep for the quality.
I will come back to order some smoked brisket, pork or chicken. For now I’m not too impressed with the food.

The food here was fantastic. Absolutely delicious from appetizers to entree. We started off with the burnt ends and bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers while sipping some Susquehanna Brewing Co. beers. I had the Can’t beat my Meatloaf sandwich with the smoked fries and smoked mac ‘n cheese. The Meatloaf was spectacular with three different smoked meats and perfectly seasoned. The smoked fries with their seasoning could hold up on their own or with ketchup or ranch, and the smoked Mac was great as well. Service was quick and friendly and all of our food cane out hot. Also sampled their house made beef jerky and immediately bought a bag when paying the bill. This is a must visit for bbq lovers and I say that after frequenting some of the best in VA where we’re from. The owner said their food is made with a lot of love and it’s clear to taste!
