We stopped here going to Colorado and we are so thankful we did. Don’t judge on the exterior of the building! Louis is the owner and chef and makes to order your food with years of experience and love and pride.
Unbelievable portions and absolutely delicious. Louis is friendly, kind and cares that you are happy with your meal. Don’t pass this up.

Don’t just from the outside. Old 50s motel and cafe.
Best food I’ve ever had anywhere. Portion sizes are ridiculously huge. He will make you anything you want if he has the ingredients, it doesn’t have to be on the menu. True cooking from scratch.

The servings were huge. The owner/chef was very nice. This is a Texas Burger with no onions. It had jalapeños diced inside of the burger meat. It was so good! My wife had carne asada that is easily at least 2 meals. Get past the exterior and go in it’s definitely worth it.

We stopped on our way back from Palo Duro Canyon State park. Burrito feeds two to three people delicious. Burger also enough for two people. You will need a nap.

Place doesn’t look appealing but I’m glad we decided to go in. The man working was super nice and makes the food fresh to order. Crazy size portions for the price. A must stop if you are in the area or driving through. He will literally make you anything you want as long as he has the ingredients. Above and beyond for the customer. The Wetback burrito has to weigh at least 5lbs. and for $15 no joke crazy.

I can’t say enough good things about this amazing little place. The owner and cook is quick to say “the menu is just a suggestion. If you want it, and I have it in my kitchen, I’ll make it for you. The quality and quantity is phenomenal! This hidden little gem is worth finding. My husband and I will drive from Lubbock just to eat at The Ponderosa. Where the burritos need their own ZIP code!

Louis is a true chef. He stives to impress his customers. He’s known for making whatever you want, no matter the challenge. If you’re hungry, I recommend the wetback burrito with barbacoa. It’s huge. Great conversation with Louis also. Don’t let the appearance deter you.

Went here today for a work lunch and was not disappointed. I ordered the carne asada plate(a safe bet for me). The steak(that’s what it looked like) was whole and not sliced or looking like ground up pieces of meat was packed with flavor and very tender and juicy. The rice was amazing. I never had rice have this much flavor packed in it let alone the fact I had never eaten red rice before. I will definitely be coming back if/when I am in the area. The chef/owner is very personable and makes you feel like family.

Absolutely delicious food and huge servings so you better come hungry. Small little place with 6-8 tables but absolutely worth the stop. I stop there everytime I go through Snyder and they are open

We popped in for lunch on our way to Austin from Amarillo. It’s a motel and a restaurant on one lot. The restaurant is separate and a little tricky to find the entrance. A small very cozy restaurant awaits when you do find the entrance. Chef takes great pride in his food. We felt very welcome. My Mom and I both had the cheese enchiladas plate. It was HUGE !!! Very good and will definitely stop here again if traveling this route again.
