We were very pleasantly surprised—the food here is absolutely delicious! We moved to Hugo about a year ago, and this was our first time trying this place. I only wish we had come sooner. We’ll definitely be back! Jorge was our server! Service was great.

Be careful picking up your own togo order & putting a zero as a tip. I got a notification on my Capital One card asking if I gave a 52% tip on my purchase from this restaurant. Which I did not. I had an order for one person me and I usually dont leave a tip for to go unless its HUGE. I’m very sad now bc I love their queso here and other items, but I do not trust their employees. I mean really? a Ten dollar tip on a $19 dollar purchase. Just gross greedy people!

Update: After my first review, I went there weekly from Paris, and well, after the last time I went, I have not been back. Don’t go on a Sunday afternoon when the manager or owner ( whomever is usually at the register isn’t there), it becomes a club, and you can’t get waited on.
The food was great, very authentic, and so was the service! Will be going back regularly, and we don’t even live in Hugo.

My husband and I went there for the first time on Palm Sunday. We both thought it had a nice atmosphere and think we’ll probably try it again, however, we’ll choose different plates. I really liked their hot sauce, my husband thought it was too mild, however, I like a milder hot sauce now. He ordered the Cheese Enchiladas with Chili Con Carne and a tamale . He liked the tamale okay giving it a three, however, he did not care for the sauce on the cheese enchiladas. He said his was not chili con carne, but a red sauce with meat in it in which he did not enjoy. I ordered the Spinach Enchiladas, but they brought me the wrong plate originally, however, the waiter was very nice and took it back. He then brought me the Spinach Enchiladas, but I think I would have enjoyed the wrong plate they brought me more. It did taste like fresh, plain cooked spinach with no spices or added touches and the sour cream sauce tasted very generic. I did enjoy the beans some, but wasn’t crazy about the rice. They did have a large menu to choose from and I am wonder if one of their specialty plates would taste better. Also, we were excited to hear they had homemade flour tortillas, but both thought they tasted very average. Also, they weren’t really that warm.
I do think at some point we’ll give it another try and hope to both find something there we really like.

Looking for someplace for lunch and adult beverage. First choice closed so ended up here. Waiter brought me the wrong beer. The chips were really dark and tasted kinda burnt. As if they had been heated multiple times. Ordered the enchiladas. They all were smother in the same cheese sauce and lettuce on top.

God, I love this place. You can get authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex. I love the Quesabirria Tacos!! Jorge is who we always sit with. Service is always excellent! I’d give 50 stars if I could. Best place to eat in Hugo!

It was really good. It tasted very fresh and the sour cream sauce was so rich. If I ever come back to this area, I will be sure to stop by. Only thing was the language barrier with the server.

Hands down amazing food, service & margarita. Super affordable too. Our waiter Mauritzo was absolutely fabulous. Sundays are really busy due to the church crowd but it’s worth the wait. Bonus, the tortillas are homemade. They can pump some serious food out of that kitchen.
