A wonderful bar and grill in the Hyco Lake area. Food is basic grill items, but what makes it special is the chef Tina. She goes above and beyond to create the perfect meal cooked to perfection. The appetizers were amazing, especially the Fried green tomatoes, tater tots, and chips. They have a full bar available. Server Sarah made sure our service was the best it could be. In the summer time their stage behind the restaurant hosts touring bands. Buoy’s is on the water and the view completes your meal. You will not be disappointed! I will be going back.

Great place to grab a bite to eat & listen to live music!! Patio seating available with lakeside view- open all year long! Daily features available. My favorites are the steak & cheese, homemade chicken salad, cheeseburger wraps, and homemade spaghetti!!! Bingo on Tuesday nights, 6:30-8pm is SO MUCH FUN!

Restaurant, super cute. Philly cheese steak egg rolls, burnt. Wrap, decent. Pizza, obviously frozen. Waitress, hated her job. There was one other couple with us on the screened in section and when the lady said something like “I thought I ordered fries” the waitress rolled her eyes and said “you probably did”. She didn’t crack a smile basically until the end of our meal. It took 20 minutes for my fiancé to get his second beer and me a refill on tea (absolutely no ice). In total the restaurant only had four tables. A younger girl was at take out, really nice when she greeted us and showed us to our seats. I seen a gentleman in a blue shirt who brought the other couple their fries. Last employee I seen was our waitress with bright red hair (honestly liked her hair just didn’t like her attitude) after being a waitress myself for 5 years, that’s the first time I’ve ever tipped 3$ on a 50$ tap. Mind you, we drove 40 minutes from home just for a little “adventure” and I can promise it’ll be quite some time before/if we decide to go back.

Came in today about 30 minutes ago to get a Hyco club with homemade chips. After I got him, no extra ranch, no chips, & this sandwich is stale! I even waited for it to be ready. Came straight home after. Called & obviously customer service is not what it used to be. Disappointed to say the least considered I am a business owner around Hyco. I will be sure to let all my client know no not to even bother. $12 roughly plus tip for mediocre food is where I have never had at this place before. Out of the last 19 years that I’ve been around, I’ve never had this issue.. I am beyond disturbed.

Stopped in while I was up at a double header race day for my kid at VIR. While I have been looking for lake lots at Hyco, I kept seeing this resturant mentioned in the sales ad. We stopped in to give it a try. Our waitress, was helpful and took our orders, but this seemed like more alcohol drinking establishment then resturant. She did not leave us hanging with needed condiments or drinks. The food took a bit long for what was ordered, but also, we were the only ones eating in the resturant at the time. I did notice 1 pick up order waiting at the bar, and one being put in. It took 30 minutes for a club sandwich and the homemade burger which tasted like a frozen patty. For the only people dining in and a very simple order, 30 minutes was too long and the wait was not worth it.

Great atmosphere, super friendly and attentive staff, but the food is absolutely awful. We rented a lake house SEP22 and there were minimal options nearby so we grabbed several items from the menu. Unfortunately it was so bad that we just drove out of our way to a grocery store to cook ourselves.

Very mediocre. From the food to the service. Staff are very polite. But you will find yourself with an empty drink very often. The food is decent, not great by any means. To be fair, it is the only place to eat in the area so there isnt much choice to be had so we eat there when we have to. Prices are pretty high for what you get. Just not impressed but also not the worst place to eat.

Been there a few times. Today happened to be a beautiful day for both the boats on the lake and motorcycles.
The food is not great but not bad either. They do have lots of help and they were all very friendly and helpful
My biggest complaint was the plastic wrapped fork knife combo kit.
They had a 100 sanitation grade which was a plus.

First time stopping in as Buoy’s. Of course we are pizza lovers so we tried their pizza and had a beer.. Next time we will try something else. I don’t think pizza is one of their signature meals. It wasn’t bad but it could’ve been better.
We def will stop in again though -after creeping on other people’s food choices, we did see a few other things that looked pretty good and we’d like to try. . The atmosphere was nice.. outdoor seating and a view of the water was fantastic. We saw several folks come in on their boats off of Hyco lake and dock up to come eat which is always nice and convenient for boaters.
Overall it was a nice stop on the way home from out riding. We will def be back to check out other items on the menu..maybe we can even catch some live music or entertainment one evening as well.
