The gorgeous pastries (croissants by Antonio Bachour) lured me in. The owner, Karen kept us there. After picking out a couple of pastries to take home, it began storming. As we waited for the rain to pass, Karen was sweet enough to offer her new customer a drink -on the house. She whipped up a rose cappuccino for me, which was more warming than a cup of hot chocolate. This created the perfect cozy moment as passerby’s took shelter inside, rain whipping the windows, and jazz playing in the background. The coffee itself was phenomenal but Karen knows how to craft and balance her drinks to take that coffee to the next level. As a former barista and foodie, I am impressed with her skill and customer service. The French Connection cafe is now a must-visit anytime I come to the Falls!
The employees were very kind and patient, Jay especially was veryyy nice and really made sure to provide us the best service.
Pictured in the photos, i got the tiramisu and it was honestly very good. Not too sweet.
THANK YOU JAYY!!- nabi
Note: The space is pretty small so if it’s busy it can get congested quickly.
The barista Kat Rwas amazing, she made our matcha one of the best that I’ve tried
It’s been a long time since a good coffee shop opened in the mall. For those of us who work here, we’re always looking for something tasty, quick, and reasonably priced. I’m so happy they opened — they’ve officially saved my breakfasts and afternoon cravings! ☕️ Highly recommend this place, everything is delicious and the owner is the sweetest.
Thank you! Thank you
My wife and I were cutting through The Falls, hands in pockets, moving with purpose. The old Starbucks was gone. In its place. The French Connection.
Now that’s a name.
We stepped inside and immediately felt it. Warmth. Chocolate in the air. Espresso pulling somewhere behind the counter like a well-tuned engine.
We ordered two chocolate lattes. Not mocha. Not syrupy dessert drinks pretending to be coffee. These were the real thing. Deep. Rich. Smooth. The kind of drink that makes you slow down and reconsider your schedule.
Then came the almond croissant.
Massive. Flaky. Golden. Warmed just enough so the almond filling softened and the outer layers shattered with every bite. We looked at it. Looked at each other. There was no way we were each taking one down solo. So we split it. Civilized. Strategic.
For the girls, we secured a Dubai chocolate bar. Yes, it’s priced like it was imported in a diplomatic pouch. But it delivered. Smooth, luxurious, and worth the mission.
And then we met Karen.
Owner. Operator. The woman running the whole show. She was behind the counter, serving the coffee herself. No pretense. No ego. Just genuine excitement about her café and about making sure we had a great experience. Six months in, and you can feel that startup energy. That spark. The kind that says this isn’t just a business. It’s personal.
The French Connection isn’t flashy. It’s not trying to be the loudest place in the mall. It’s confident. Cozy. Understated. Like a well-cut suit.
On a cold Miami day, it felt like we’d slipped quietly into a corner of Paris without ever leaving Kendall.
Mission accomplished.
We’ll be back.
