Had a delicious lunch here today! Took photos a bit late… but we had a torta milanesa with beans as recommended; one of each kind of tamale; and a roasted pork burrito, with an iced horchata. Authentic flavors – wry reasonably priced – recommended! Park on the street behind the restaurant!

Some of the best tacos and Mexican food in Lawrence hands down! I love coming to this place and getting a margarita and some tacos. There birria tacos are to die for! The family that runs this place is always so nice and helpful and make some damn good food. I highly recommend checking this place out if you have some time and want some good local Mexican food!

The food was okay but the experience was less than ideal. The owner ? or server looked at me like I had the worst order ever. That happens a lot as a vegetarian when I don’t order meat. Some people don’t understand. There’s no chips or glasses of water. You pay for bottles of water. There’s also no actual waiting on a table however you order at the table. A bigger group of college aged kids came in and were very loud and yelling and basically ruined the experience for me. Call me old or whatever but you never know what people are going through. Be respectful when you are eating by others. Eh I am not sure I’d go out of my way to eat here again unless some things are changed. It has potential but I don’t see it lasting long as it is now.

Finally got a moment to stop by this place and try out their tacos. It is one of the top places in Lawrence… Up there with La Estrella and Paleteria Chihuahua, and probably better than La Estrella and on par with Paleteria Chihuahua, in my opinion. We tried most of the meat fillings, and the stars were tripa, Carnita, and Buche. The place is nice and clean, and the service is excellent. Bravo!

A superb taqueria! Service was very quick and polite. Tried the tacos: carne asada, birria, and chicken. All were delicious. The entrées are under $10. There’s outdoor seating and also some parking in the back.

Very clean. Food was good but not great. Waitress was VERY nice.
No signage on wether to seat myself or wait. Finally got someone to tell me to sit anywhere. Had to wait for a menu. No one asked me what I wanted to drink. Waited a LONG time and had to flag someone down to get my order. NOT busy in restaurant. Used the bathroom. Toilet did NOT flush. When I got my food I didn’t get any utensils.
Food was good and reasonably priced. Not as tasty as a burrito from most taco trucks in KC nor do they have things like limes or onion on the side.
What I would like to see:
1.) clear signage on whether I sit or wait
2.) To be waited on in a timely manner
3.) Working men’s toilet.
4.) punch that flavor up

Blown away by how they have such great reviews based on my experience. I would rate them 1 star if I could. There were two hairs in my food (pictured) and when I called to let the restaurant know and ask for a refund, the “owner” has a terrible attitude and got defensive. He claimed they could not confirm if the hair came from their restaurant or if it got into my food on my drive back home. I ordered the gringa which is a quesadilla. So essentially they are claiming that I somehow opened the packages and bagged food, opened my quesadilla, and had two black hairs fall into it while I was driving home. When I started to eat the food I took two bites and on the third bite is when a long black hair came out. I opened the quesadilla and found another black hair mixed in. Their attitude about this situation blew me away, this is no way to run a business or treat customers. They were highly recommended by a family member and they lost all of mine and their respect and business. They wanted to give me a $10 refund on a $50 bill while myself and two others could not even finish our meals because of how disgusted we were. Horrible business etiquette.

I’ve been here twice now and will be back many times in the near future. The food is delicious – the chicken is especially perfect. It’s grilled, not shredded. The green salsa is AMAZING. The portions are on the smaller side but it’s worth it.
