I’ve been coming here with my family for many years and I realized that the chicken was hella burnt! The food was for my 2 year old so my wife was going to feed her on the way to church. She realized the chicken was burnt so I drove back and The lady in the front said they couldn’t do anything because we left the restaurant! Since when do we have to check our food before leaving don’t they check the order before closing the bag!!! We didn’t want a refund we just asked to exchange the chicken so everyone be aware of that rule!! They just lost a loyal customer that will not be coming back!

Never coming back again!
I had never had a bad experience with this restaurant at this location but seen that they have so many 1 star reviews leaves much to be desired.
How do they expect you to eat this? Chicken was dry, burnt and hard as leather. I called in to order a bbq chicken plate not an extra crispy burnt chicken.

Decided to try it for lunch got the Lupia and the light garlic shrimp. They both were good but imagine trying to eat a salad and you’ve got a plastic fork, you cannot poke the salad at all. It was really disappointing because the salad could have been really good but you need real utensils to eat that food. Everything is served in styrofoam to go containers even if you tell him that you’re eating it there to me that was really odd.

This is the place!!! We eat here couple times a week. Love the bbq and katsu chicken, it’s always perfect!! Try the gravy on the katsu, life changer. Garlic shrimp is life, Teri beef and musubi make my family happy. The Mac salad is 10/10 and the staff cares about your experience! So lucky to have this in our neighborhood!! Malasadas, Lumpia, fried chicken skin!! Let’s go to L and L eat the Kalua with cabbage, yum!!! I’ve cheesecake and Hawaiian juice all the flavors❤️

Absolutely terrible experience at this L&L Barbecue location in Oceanside. The service was downright awful — the workers were rude, dry, and acted like helping customers was a burden. When my wife politely asked for extra sauce, they gave her a full-blown attitude. I was shocked.
They handed me two tiny sauces for a full chicken katsu plate and six spam musubis. I told them that clearly wasn’t enough, and they coldly responded that they only give out two sauces unless you pay for more. Seriously? For the prices they’re charging, you’d think they could at least give a reasonable amount of sauce without acting like you’re asking for the world.
Overpriced food, terrible customer service, and a bad vibe overall. This isn’t the aloha spirit — it’s just rude and stingy. Won’t be eating here again. Plenty of other spots that actually care about their customers.

For how much they charge, it’s ridiculous that the food quality is so all over the place. I used to love getting their BBQ beef but today I hardly took a few bites, for the second time it was mainly fat and the meat that was there just tasted off, very mushy not tender like it used to be and almost makes me want to throw up. There’s nothing more frustrating than over paying for mediocre food that’s not worth finishing. I would ask for my money back but I know it’s pointless so I’m just not coming back.

Not bad, ultimately, but far from good.
The menu is fairly basic, and you certainly pay for your larger meals.
I got the Large BBQ, on the first setting, the beef was fairly good, served with a teriyaki like take with zero spice, a bit of rice and some cold potato salad.
In the second time, I ordered curry beef, and that was stupidly disappointing. The dish was just so blend it was bordering awful.
I think folks that know food wouldn’t make this a regular.
Additionally, the restaurant wasn’t that clean. There were dirty marks on the chairs and food mess on the table, I had to use a high chair for my son that was so dirty, I had to get wet wipes from my car to clean. And don’t get me set on toilet, that was perhaps the worst I’ve seen in many years.
I do firmly believe, if you can’t keep your tables, chairs and toilet areas clean you can’t cook and store food clean.
This part of California has great food, I don’t think this place is worth the gamble, given the poor cleaning practices.

$20ish dollars each for 2 regulars. Got my classic bbq chicken and two extra scoops of salad on the side. Was $48 total. They give you a lot of food. Love it. Love them. Best Hawaiian bbq, in my opinion.
The old lady here is rude when I ask her a question about the half and half. Bad attitude. Keep her in check. This is the second time she’s done this, and I prefer the guy who works here.

I had a coupon for this place so I decided to try it out. We went on a Wednesday and it seemed a little quiet when we went in. The menu had so many options I didn’t know what to choose! I went with a mini loco moco, mini chicken katsu, mini bbq chicken, and a shrimp saimin. The saimin was nothing spectacular just shrimp and noodles (i thought there would be more to it) but everything else was really good! Chicken was moist which I a plus in my book. The only weird thing is everything was Togo even when I said it was here, kind of a waist especially since styrofoam is suppose to be banned I thought. The lady behind the counter also seemed irritated when we ordered.

Always enjoy eating at L&L! I ordered chicken katsu with 2 scoops macaroni salad (because it’s that good) and 1 scoop white rice. As you can see, they piled on the food! It is definitely worth the price. You could very much make it last for two meals. Highly recommend!
