Lake Tahoe Pontoons
This is my go to bakery. Staff is the best, very kind and helpful. Waiting time is vey minimal. Pastries and coffee are some of the best I’ve ever had. The baked donut is something to tell everyone you know. Wow!

The friendly employees and delicious pastries and fresh breakfast sandwiches are a favorite of our family. This bakery is a must stop location each time we visit South Tahoe, whether it be ski days or soccer tournaments.

Emailed the bakery from the SF Bay Area a few weeks before the event and ordered a custom cake for my birthday weekend in South Lake Tahoe. They responded promptly as what their website says ( days minimum response time) and was able to confirm my order after a few days of back and forth with the design and flavor via email. I decided on a 6in round black and white cake with vanilla buttercream icing. Paid for it over the phone and picked it up an hour earlier than my pick up time (i called and asked if i can pick up earlier). It was sooo beautiful and delicious! We all loved it! Thank you Sugar Pine Bakery!!! You made me so happy!

From the moment you walk in, the cozy charm and sweet aroma wrap around you like a warm hug. Their pastries are next-level — flaky, buttery, and baked to perfection. I tried the almond croissant and nearly cried tears of joy. The cinnamon bun? A buttery cloud of heaven.
The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, even during busy hours. You can tell they care about every detail, from presentation to flavor. And the location? Perfect for grabbing a treat before heading to the lake or hitting the slopes.
Whether you’re a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop here. Sugar Pine Bakery isn’t just a bakery — it’s a Tahoe experience you’ll crave long after you leave.

We disappointed this bakery store. We are visitors from Seattle. We wanted to eat a fresh bakeries and coffee in the morning. I had a hard time finding the location of the store. I found a delicious bread pudding so I ordered it. But it was horrible taste, cold and hard. We asked to warm it up. And almond croissant is no good too. We’re expected to have a fresh bakeries.
I wouldn’t recommend this place.

After reading several other reviews I was excitied to give the bakery a try. From what I gathered i shouldn’t expect much from the atmosphere, but the quality from what I read was phenomenonal. We ended up ordering two types of muffins and it was 50/50. The blueberry muffin was flavorful, moist, and I’d recommend. However, the pumpkin muffin was dry, the only flavor present was vanilla, and laked any want to eat more than a few bites. With our two choices we ordered being good and not so great, it seems it’s a 50/50 shot of liking what you order.

We arrived after 11, so we missed out on trying the cranberry orange loafs of bread as they were all gone. We tried the chocolate and ham and cheese croissants. Both delicious. The cranberry orange muffin wasn’t as moist as I had hoped and was more dense but yummy if you like that. Apple Danish was delicious too. I did think it was a little pricey as the muffin was $3.75.

The desserts here are wonderful! They had a few options with meringue, which I love. The kind employee was so nice to give us recommendations for where to eat in town. Such a cute place!
