Very disappointing… The evening of 2/21/26 we got a large pepperoni pizza with sausage on half plus an order of BBQ wings and also an order of hot wings. We obviously received three different kinds of wings. Quality wise, BBQ wings we’re good. Hot wings were extremely small and dried out. The mystery wings were more fresh than the hot wings, but not by much 🙁 The pizza was on par with the hot wings. Extremely thin with very minimal toppings. First impression is a no for me. Very disappointing.

Purple Monkey in South Charleston, Ohio is a great spot for pizza and family fun! The pizza is fresh, hot, and full of flavor, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The arcade games are a fun bonus and give kids something to enjoy while parents get a break to eat. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the place is clean and well kept. It’s an awesome place to grab a meal, let the kids have some fun, and enjoy a laid-back experience. Travel from North Carolina and always make it a must place to stop on my to-do list. We’ll definitely be back!

Very disappointed with the calzone considering I really enjoy the pizza… they charge $.75 each additional ingredient. I got one green olive and didn’t see any banana peppers.. so essentially I paid $1.50 for one green olive! don’t understand why they can’t just give you what you paid for. Even at $.75 per additional ingredient they’re making a killing… Maybe that’s why it’s for sale? at least there’s Chillicothe pizza down the street, maybe I’ll just stick with that from now on

Our frequent orders have revealed inconsistencies in topping distribution. Despite incurring extra charges for additional toppings, the quantity provided does not align with the payment. Furthermore, we’ve observed a decline in quality concurrent with a price increase. Specifically, the addition of extra pepperoni is necessary to achieve a satisfactory amount. Similarly, orders including onions and mild peppers have been sparsely applied, despite the associated extra cost. The charge of $0.75 per additional topping, particularly when the quantity is limited to a few pieces, is concerning. Considering the price point of our two-large-pizza orders, we anticipate a generous amount of pepperoni. If additional toppings are purchased, we expect their distribution to be consistent across the pizza, rather than concentrated on a few slices. This situation is disappointing.

This is the 1st time I’ve eaten since under new management, and I’m saddened to say it’ll be the last. I arrived right at my ready time and it was only luke warm. The delicious salt crusts that made them top notch are gone, and they now use a pre-made crust i can only describe as cardboard… hard and flavorless. The delicious sauce that used to be freshly mixed and seasoned is clearly now bought in a can and has zero flavor. I kept dipping my piece in it hoping to get flavor and it just didn’t happen. The toppings that used to be very generous are now very light. The Pepsi products they used to have are now Coke, and the website still advertises Pepsi. I got a large pizza and we threw away 3/4 of it and threw a frozen pizza in the oven. I can’t say its too expensive because prices align with elsewhere, but eating out costs a lot right now. If I’m going to order pizza and pay for my meal, it surely better taste better that a freezer pizza. The breadsticks were so covered in a garlic topping that the smell of them made you nauseous the moment you opened them and they went straight in the trash. The one saving grace was the courtesy of the folks inside. They truly were polite. I was truly saddened to see these terrible changes and won’t be back due to taste and poor quality.

Wonderful service for a pick up order. Went in before the JV basketball game, picked up hot after the varsity finished. The pizza was tasty, highly recommended. Ample parking out front or on the street. Pricing is reasonable post-Covid. We will return soon! Thank you!
