More people should come here and try their food. The atmosphere is nice. It’s still beside the busy intersection but since it’s upstairs it’s somewhat removed from noise. Food’s great. Really like their pizza. The size is perfect either for one, or sharing with a pasta entree.

This is one of my favorite places to come on the island always such a cute atmosphere and friendly environment. The staff is so welcoming and the food is delicious and fresh!!! The caprese and garlic bread is the best way to start the meal! Enjoy!!

I had a great waitress tonight dark hair, the food was amazing, ambience and lighting was great. The view is nice too, has a waterfall and overlooks Waikīkī street on the window side. The pizza is sooo amazing, and the drinks were great especially the espresso martini and I recommend the tiramisu or affogato for dessert they’re both great

Amazing Italian hidden gem above the hustle and bustle of the Lewers Street shops. Beautiful atmosphere & tasty food choices. The bruschetta and caprese appetizers did not disappoint!! We shared pizza and lasagna, which was definitely on point and filling. The server was very attentive to our needs and answered all our questions. Must visit!!!

Without a doubt, this is one of the BEST restaurants in Honolulu. The true highlight, however, is the warmth and hospitality from the owner, Sal, Soo Yung, and the entire staff. Every time we visit, we’re greeted like family, making each dining experience feel truly special. The food and drinks are consistently outstanding, offering a genuine taste of Italy. If you’re looking for authentic Italian cuisine paired with impeccable service, this is the place to be. I can’t recommend it enough—1000000/10!

We had an excellent time at Il Tappo!! The service was incredible, the setting was romantic, and the dishes were absolutely delicious. Would certainly come back again (which we definitely did)! The owners (we think) were so personable and friendly, offered to take our photos and had wonderful suggestions in regard to the menu. They also had great menu deals throughout the week! -the honeymooners ❤️

(Last visited December 6, 2022.) Vacationing in Hawaii for a couple of weeks so we’re just exploring downtown Waikiki for a little bit, but it’s time to eat! So we pulled out our trusty Yelp app to see what’s around! We landed on Il Tappo since we like pizza! Let’s see how it went!

Atmosphere/Appearance: So the entrance to this place is like, through a hotel or something like that. The details are a little hazy, but what I DO REMEMBER is the beautiful fountain right out front and the market looking theme that was actually one of the bars! It was so cool and elegant. Once sat upstairs the views out into the city were beautiful. The restaurant wasn’t too loud and felt quite intimate, like a great place for a date.

Service: I can’t remember who took care of us, but we had no problems whatsoever. I do remember the bartender being super friendly and approachable when we first walked in though.

Food: We kept dinner light this evening and tried their Isalata Di Pollo which is a salad containing rucola, cherry tomatoes, olives, roasted chicken & shaved Parmigiano Reggiano. It was crisp, fresh, simple and had an excellent mix of ingredients. Not too over the top at all. We also went for the Margherita Pizza which contains tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella & pesto. Delightfully simple. The pesto was a gentle drizzle as to not overshadow the rich flavors of the sauce and cheese. The crust was light and fluffy with a good crunch around the edges.

Value: Our salad was $24.00 and pizza was $23.00. It’s Hawaii, it’s downtown, it is what it is. Lol. Bring your wallet, you’re on vacation right? Unless you live here… then you probably are a baller anyway.

I really enjoyed this spot. It was chill, felt tucked away while being in a downtown city. Check it out if you’re in the area.
