When I came to the door I questioned it because it says- yes we are open. Once inside it’s a very clean new place, very strange all the windows are way high. A Mexican place the big thing is chips and salsa and most chips were broken and stale and salsa- well might as well went to store and bought something better. Speed for food was a bit excessive but not terrible.
Food- steak tasted burnt and chicken was bland. Rice was excellent and sauce was excellent but was hardly any.

This is THE place to est in Oelwein. The flavors are on point. Their Refried Beans remind me of my Aunt Connie’s beans she made when I was a kid. The salsa is the right amount of heat, chips are always crisp, fresh and nicely salted.

Food was good.. The waiter was abrupt & not very cordial. I asked about a drink & he acted “pained” to explain if it was a “mix” or “premade”. The place was semi full & there were other staff.. he acted like we were an inconvenience to him… and his ‘tip’ showed him we noticed

Ate here during the RAGBRAI event in Iowa. They were swamped as to be expected, with thousands of people arriving into town, and they still provided superb service! Efficient yet polite. I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor of the food. It was delicious.

The food was SO good. We hadn’t been here before and would definitely go back. The quesadillas we had were perfect; crispy on the outside and so gooey on the inside. Plus, highly recommend the queso. Yum.

Well service was ok. Until our server left (went home) and left us sitting there wait for our ticket. All the meat that was cooked was way over cooked. It was like chewing on leather. No seasoning at all.
The best part of the whole meal was my lemonade. But I guess you can’t expect great Mexican food when you’re from the south and know great Mexican food .

Server looked high or sick. Ordered drinks which were never brought to us, ever. Asked for more salsa 3 times before it was brought. Ordered diner and was brought lunch size without sides and then charged for diner. Other meal was charred like they didn’t clean their grill. Very disappointing won’t be going back.
