Muscongus Bay Lobster is the quintessential Maine lobster shack experience! We ordered two of their 2-lobster combos (each with 1 to 1¼ lb lobsters), and everything was outstanding—from the sweet, perfectly cooked lobster to the fresh mussels and local corn. The lobster was clearly fresh off the boat—tender, flavorful, and needed nothing more than a little melted butter.
The setting couldn’t be better: a rustic pier on a quiet cove in Round Pond, with picnic tables overlooking the water and working lobster boats coming and going. It’s peaceful, scenic, and incredibly relaxing. The staff were friendly, efficient, and happy to answer questions—everything felt easy and welcoming.
If you’re looking for an authentic, no-frills lobster feast in a gorgeous coastal spot, this is it. Worth every mile to get there.

Beautiful views of the boats in Muscongus Bay and delicious food to match! The lobster chowder, crab cakes, steamers, oysters and corn bread were fantastic. They also have a great drink selection – beers, seltzers, IPA’s, ciders and more.

What a hidden gem! Oysters on the half shell were phenomenal, as were the haddock tacos, the wine, and the lobster! The open patio let’s you take in the entire, beautiful harbor and was the absolute best way to end a Maine Day. We will return! They were very kid friendly as well!

The view is almost as incredible the food! I’m so glad that we found this place! There’s also an ice cream place within walking distance from the parking lot. I got the crab cake sandwich and dill pickle chips, they were great. And it’s only a 15-20 min drive to the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse.

Picnic table style waterside lobster dining. Beautiful location, delicious lobster. It is an order/pickup at the window vs. a table service type of establishment. Staff is courteous and owners are lovely, local hardworking Mainers. Indulge- you will be rewarded!

Popular on the wharf lobster place with lobster delivered fresh off the boat. Very very popular so expect a wait but it’s worth it. Great view of the bay with wonderful breezes. Definitely go.

Been going here for years, decent lobster and other food, but let’s face it lobster is good no matter where you get it. And for you tourists that love Reds eats… its no better, just a nice long line. So my last experience here I paid 16+ bucks a lb for a hard shell lobster. I don’t usually pay much attention to lobster prices but it struck me as being high and I’d already paid and left. Sure enough I went to Simmons market in Damariscotta and going price is 9.99 a lb. I don’t understand the markup? I live in the area and its pretty easy to know the going rate. However, if you want a nice view to sit by the water and eat its fine, the food is good.

June 2021: Good: lobsters and oysters were good. Lobster are 13 dollars a pound, a dozen oysters 34 dollars. There are tables under the tent and some in the sun.
Bad: bathrooms are porta potties dirty, smelly and not what you want coming out the pandemic. Parking lot is very limited.

Lobsters were delicious, service was awesome, and just an overall awesome atmosphere for dining! There is a covered seating option as well, as it can get chilly on the water. Can’t wait to return next year!
