Food was very good (at tourist prices). Very talented mariachi band played a few songs. If you want a fun, touristy experience and care about the quality of the food, I’d recommend this place. They were clearly familiar with navigating dietary restrictions, which was very helpful (e.g., getting us vegetarian beans instead of the refried beans with lard). Popular place, so I would recommend making a reservation.

The restaurant looks nice and the service was good. But the food is definitely not worth the price. I ordered the pescado al ajillo for almost 600 pesos. It is very greasy, small portion and the rice was very dry. Also it came like 5 minutes after I ordered and was almost cold. I can only assume that they prepare all dishes in advance or this was maybe sent back by someone?! I cannot comment about the other dishes on the menu, but I will not go back there.

Fantastic local cuisine! Wonderful ambience both on the ground floor and on the rooftop patio, and terrific wine list. Highly recommend!

Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend. Between the dishonest wine service, unprofessional behavior and food that made someone ill, I can strongly say that this restaurant should be avoided.
To be more specific: Our visit to Los Tres Gallos was extremely disappointing and uncomfortable from start to finish. Let me explain …
Despite clearly telling the waiter, Pedro, that I did not want an expensive red wine, he still brought one of the most expensive wines on the menu without proper confirmation. The wine cost around $18 USD (320 Mexican pesos), which is absolutely unacceptable given that it was explicitly not what I asked for. When I politely addressed this issue, Pedro caused a scene, instead of handling the situation professionally.
Unfortunately, the food was just as bad. The fajitas were excessively greasy and poorly prepared. The quality was so low that my father became sick afterward and spent the entire next day in bed, unable to eat anything. This is not just bad cooking. it’s a serious health concern!
Between the dishonest wine service, unprofessional behavior and food that made someone ill, I can strongly say that this restaurant should be avoided.
I do not recommend eating here and hope other guests think twice before visiting.

Good craft margarita options. They are located right in the middle of the art district and a good place to sit at the counter for a fancy margarita, or to grab a margarita to-go where you are walking around San Jose del Cabo

The atmosphere was nice, but the food was just average. Considering the price, it didn’t really feel worth it. The service started off well, but things changed at the end of the meal. The server suggested adding a 20% tip to the bill. Since our total was already over $300 usd, I requested a 10% tip instead. After that, his attitude noticeably changed—he dropped the bill on the table and walked away abruptly. It left me feeling uncomfortable and disappointed. If this is what 10% service looks like, it was not a great way to end the evening.

Excellent! We made a reservation at Los Tres Gallos on the recommendation of our concierge. Our reservation was on the Art Walk night so the area was bustling. The empanadas, enchiladas verdes, and churros were phenomenal. The staff were wonderful and the mariachi band was so fun. Would definitely recommend for an authentic Mexican dining experience.

Los Tres Gallos was a wonderful dining experience and definitely worth visiting while in Cabo. The atmosphere is stunning — warm lights, beautiful courtyard seating, and live traditional music that really adds to the experience without being too loud or distracting.
The food was delicious and felt authentic. Service was friendly and attentive, although at times a bit slower than expected, especially during the busier moments — but nothing that took away from the overall experience.
Overall, Los Tres Gallos delivers great food, a beautiful setting, and a memorable evening. It’s a place I’d happily return to and recommend to others visiting the area.
