Let me be VERY clear. I am a cook myself and I do not play about food. I am painfully picky about anything I don’t make at home, and it is extremely rare for outside food to meet my standards.
But Mommy’s Delicious Food just did more than meet them. It blew them completely out of the water.
I ordered the jerk chicken with fried plantains and slaw and I am genuinely sitting here stunned. I am writing this review mid-bite because I cannot physically wait until I’m done eating. That’s how serious this is.
The jerk chicken? Unreal. Deep, rich, perfectly balanced flavor with just the right heat. Smoky, tender, juicy, and seasoned all the way through. Not just “good jerk” but the kind that makes you close your eyes and chew slowly out of respect.
The fried plantains were absolute perfection. Sweet, caramelized, golden, and soft with those crispy edges that let you know they were cooked by someone who understands food, culture, and patience.
And the slaw… whew. I need a moment. This is without question the BEST slaw I have ever had in my entire life. I’m talking bold, bright, perfectly balanced, refreshing yet rich. The kind of slaw that steals the spotlight and has you scooping extra “just one more time.” I would order it by itself. I would dream about it.
This is not just food. This is love, intention, and mastery on a plate. You can taste the care in every single morsel. Every bite feels purposeful. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is thrown together. This is someone cooking from the heart and from experience.

Went from 0-100%. These are the dishes that I bought there. The owner’s sister is absolutely outstanding. The food is delicious, and my son loved the mac-n-cheese and chicken stewed. He killed it yesterday evening. Thank you, Mommy’s Delicious. Keep it up. God Bless!
Update: To be honest this is probably the best Haitian restaurant in CT. The owner is amazing. Food is beyond my imagination.

I think this Haitian’s Restaurant needs to work in customer service,learn how to cook Haitian food,set the price in a menu because she has to think a lot before she gives the price. Worst experience ever,the food is horrible,she’s over price us while we saw the price. Furthermore, she wants us to sell us what she wants to instead of let us make our own choices. I am not going to say never,but whenever I am bring my family to vacation, I don’t think I will buy Haitian’s food until they know how to do business.?Once again, worst experience ever.

Authentic homemade Caribbean food. That’s should be all I need to say to get you to go here and give it a try.
Warning they make everything fresh so when they run out, that’s it for the day. When I got there around 7pm, they were out of almost everything besides curry chickened and a curry stewed turkey. Both of which tasted amazing. I ended up getting the curry chicken which was tender and moist and full of curry flavor. See pics for reference!

If I could I would give them zero stars. I purchased 3 large oxtails for $28 each. Went home and open it up and it was filled with rice and veggies with 5-6 pieces of oxtails. I called them and the guy said that’s about right I said “ are you kidding me” you charge $28 for 5-6 pieces of oxtails and just filled it with rice? II said your medium is 2-3 pieces? He said I misunderstand what large is. Basically I got ripped off and paid $90 with tax for 3 plates of rice and veggies. Will never ever go to this place again.

Have come here a few times now and the food is always delicious. My favorite is the jerk chicken with rice, beans, and steamed veggies. The curry chicken is also delicious. 10/10 recommend

So I’m usually really weary about trying new foods from other cultures, as they usually use spices that my body has a hard time tolerating. But HOLY MOLEY!!! The jerk chicken was ASTOUNDING!! The gentle spice paired beautifully with the more subtle and muted flavors of the rice & beans. Juicy and super tender. The veggies were delicious and a wonderful combo to beat the spice of the chicken. My fiancé had the curry chicken and he loved it as much as I did!! We might just have to make this a semi regular spot for us for date nights
