Placed order after waiting in short line on a Thursday at noon. Ordered the Special combo: Honey Sesame chicken and meat jun with 2 scoops rice and tossed green salad that included slice of tomato and green romaine lettuce and choice of dressing served on the side along witj meat jun soy sauce. Cost $14.99 before tax. Waited 10 minutes to get my order which was hot, savory, not too sweet.

The food was terrible and the quality was really bad. Rice was dry and the meat Jun is not MeatJun. very oily and no taste at all. When I asked for a refund, they told me I had to bring the plate lunch back, even though I couldn’t return the same day. They said they would accept the plate lunch even 2–3 days later. I’m definitely going to bring it back when I have time to get my refund.

A great place for a plate lunch. I’ve been coming here since Pearl Highlands opened. Love the chicken Katsu, ginger chicken. Clean place to eat. Larger portions than L&L. Been coming here since the 90s. Solid place.

I’m surprised by the negative reviews. I’ve been eating here often since I moved nearby. The portions are big—$10 for a mini chicken BBQ plate is a great deal. Friendly staff and usually fast service. I recommend it!

Ate here last Saturday, June 22, 2024 . Got SICK IMMEDIATELY! It was either the beef lumpia, the chicken katsu sauce, lemon sauce or fried shrimp. I’ve been sick for about 10 days. Filed a complaint with the health department. Severely dehydrated. Haven’t had a solid BM in 10 days. Missed a day and a half of work. Not worth the gamble. EAT HERE WITH CAUTION!!!! I recommend eating at home or somewhere else instead.

We only stopped by for a quick spam musubi to hold us over until we met up with some friends but I will say it was a tasty spam musubi. The rice was really good. Usual sticky type but I felt like they gave more than other places but not too much. They added just the right amount of sauce and I looked how cooked the spam was.
Something else I’d like to point out is their breakfast menu. Their pricing for both breakfast and their bowls were really good. Pricing for regular and mini size plates were on par with place like L & L, etc.
Service was quick and friendly. The food hall/food court type place where they are located offers quite a nice variety of eateries. Plenty of parking in the shared but large parking lot. Shared, food court style seating with both indoors and outdoor options.

Doesn’t deserve its Low rating. Never had a bad experience here. Food is always hot and fresh. As good as any l&l if not better. Like the chicken burger. Deluxe has nice lettuce tomato and onion. Also combo plates with brown rice. Best deal at the highlands market food court.

Got the meat jun ..sesame chicken ..1st time buy here..fast nice people..chicken perfect or near perfect..meat jun is the disappointment.
As a chef I suspect bad cut of meat..&/or..low amount of seasoning..&/or old meat…I mostly suspect the 1st 2 together but only the cooks know. It has/had a egg, flower and maybe some seasoning to it but that’s it.
I may return but seems my meat jun restaurant search is still on.
..after cooling the meat jun had some meat flavor…at least needed salt…I updated to 4* but it’s more like 3.5.

Wow… I have eaten here twice in the past week and I will never ever eat here again and I will tell people do not go to this place. On both occasions I ordered the Chicken Katsu & Pork Adobo plate and both times I never received any sauce. When I inquired about the sauce they told me it would cost $ 1.00 more.. What place does this?
Everywhere else that you get a Katsu Plate at gives Katsu sauce at no additional charges.
I guess Pearl Highlands likes to keep the bad cooks in the kitchen or in this case food court as long as they pay the high mall rents.. Well trust me when I say “No more eating at L & G…
