Jessica has owned and operated this authentic Taiwanese street food joint for a little over 5 years. She is from the southern part of Taiwan and the cooking style reflects exactly that. The pop corn chicken and other fried items use gluten free breading, it is made from traditional sweet potato flour or starch. It will give you the same crispy and crunchy texture as flour and cornmeal but with more chew. The flavor is very authentic, but the only way to reheat it is to use an oven or air fryer otherwise the breading will become very mushy and difficult to eat.
The pork chop was very tender, same breading, same flavor as the chicken. The size of the pork chop is quite large, flattened out and fried to perfection. The side dishes were perfect, the pickles cabbages, the marinaded egg, the minced meat on the rice, it gives you instant flash back to the night markets in Taiwan.
The beef noodle soup, perfect noodle, good portion of the tender beef, but the soup base is not my favorite, while it is bold and strong, it is on the sweet side and it needs a bit more five spice. But this is true to the southern Taiwan cooking style.
If you have had good bubble tea, you will realize that the tapioca here was cooked way to soft, compare to the honey infused tapioca served in some of the joints in China town, Tugo has a long way to go to get one more star.

This place has been open for 6 years, across street from Hersey High School. It offers authentic Taiwanese food, and it has a lots of unique drinks. I tried the popcorn chicken and pork chop combo, the size is large, food prepared very fresh, the taste is good. the shop is spark clean, very tastefully decorated. The service is very friendly. Very worth a try. I will come back and try other menu items.

This place is an absolute gem. Small space with big flavors. Reminds me of the beef noodle soups in Taipei. Having parents of Taiwanese descent, finding this place is a miracle. Will be recommending to everyone we know.

Extremely tasty and extremely authentic coming from someone who grew up in Taiwan. Operated by some of the kindest and nicest people I’ve ever met! What a lovely and awesome couple. They really know what they’re doing. I cannot wait for my next visit as I’m writing this. The drive from anywhere you’re coming from is well worth it. I wish I lived in Arlington Heights to get this more often!!!

I really liked everything I got: beef noodle soup, beef dumplings, popcorn chicken, braised minced pork bowl, bento boxes, boba, Taiwanese sausage, pickled veggies, etc.

I LOVE TUGO TEA HOUSE! Just left not too long ago with my boyfriend. Their popcorn chicken is so good! It’s been a few years since I had popcorn chicken and this place has been on my list. I’ve been craving it and Taiwanese food for years. I also ordered their mango peach green tea with crystal jelly – so delish and refreshing! The service is amazing! They were all so friendly and I felt appreciated in the restaurant. I will definitely be back to try more food and drinks, and I will suggest this place to my friends and family!

Tugo Tea House consistently delivers exceptional Taiwanese cuisine, with every dish demonstrating impressive quality and authenticity.
The beef noodle soup offers a rich, deeply flavorful broth paired with tender beef and well-textured noodles, while the popcorn chicken stands out for its perfectly crispy exterior, juicy interior, and distinctive house seasoning that vividly recalls the vibrant atmosphere of a Taiwan night market.
Every offering maintains this high standard, providing genuine satisfaction and making Tugo Tea House a premier destination in the area for authentic Taiwanese flavors and premium bubble teas. Highly recommended.

Was craving authentic Taiwanese food, and this place definitely hit the spot! Its hard to find a milk tea that isn’t too sweet in this area, and they made it perfectly. The popcorn chicken bento box lunch was also delicious and a great deal. Highly recommend!

Quite an authentic place. The fried pork chop + popcorn chicken bento box was pretty good! Portion was quite big, and both the pork chop and popcorn chicken were fired to perfection and well seasonal, very hearty and satisfying. Not a big fun of the beef noodle soup though, it was very salty and lack of other flavors.
