It was a very disappointing experience and not a place I am looking to try again. I am a huge poke fan and been trying a lot of different places but this was by far the worst.
The portion, which was supposed to be the large bowl was very small. I generally get large bowls at other places and I only eat half by the time I am full and save the other half for dinner or lunch the day after. The bowl today was more like a snack. Filled up with a bunch of lettuce and barely any rice or toppings.
While the toppings sounded good from the description, I expected a more balanced flavor. The amount of salmon was a very small, barely a few pieces, and the entire bowl was overpowered by big slices of raw red onion. Naively when I saw the ingredients I thought it would be pickled red onions something that I had in other poke bowls before but to my surprise they came raw and too strong for the small amount of other toppings in the bowl.

I stopped by the Hula Poke location on Bandera today, and unfortunately this was the worst experience I’ve had at any of their spots. I visit their other locations often, so I know what the usual service and quality should be.
The server today was not friendly at all. When I asked to have my items mixed, she told me I could mix it myself. Normally they mix everything together when you order your bowl, so this caught me off guard. When I asked again, she said they “no longer do that,” which is odd because the De Zavala location mixed my bowl just two weeks ago.
On top of that, she was barely adding any of the toppings I selected. I kept having to ask for a little more of everything because she was putting such small amounts in the bowl.
Overall, this was the worst bowl I’ve ever gotten from Hula Poke, and I don’t plan on returning to this location. If the other locations end up following the same behavior and stop offering the same level of service, I’ll probably just switch to a different place entirely.

I visited Hula Poke and had a decent experience. The sushi roll Brito was delicious, but the service was lacking. Unfortunately, there was only one staff member working, which led to slow service. To make matters worse, the miso soup came in plastic dishes, which wasn’t very appetizing. However, the sushi itself was tasty, and I appreciated the unique flavors. Overall, I would recommend improving the service and using proper dishware to enhance the dining experience.

Hula Poke served up a satisfying lunch. The poke bowl was fresh and flavorful, with a generous portion of fish and toppings. The miso soup was a nice complement to the meal, and the egg rolls were crispy and delicious. The pink lemonade was refreshing. Overall, a good experience.

I was really disappointed with my experience at this establishment. Compared to other sushi burrito spots I’ve tried, this one fell completely short. The portions were noticeably smaller than what I’m used to, and definitely not worth the price.
I also specifically asked if they had black pearl tapioca boba, and the cashier told me yes. But when I got my drink, she gave me some strange orange boba instead. When I went back to ask what happened, she suddenly said that was the only kind they had—something she never mentioned when I first asked.
The place was completely empty, which honestly makes sense after my visit. I definitely won’t be recommending this spot to anyone. There are far better options just up the road.

Hula Poke is a hidden gem in San Antonio! Their poke bowls are solid — fresh ingredients, flavorful combinations, and the seaweed salad is especially crisp and delicious. It is pricy for the amount that you receive but we are also in SA and the rise of food in general has increased. Where they really shine is with their boba drinks.
They offer unique house-made drinks like the lychee sparkling boba, which is super refreshing, and they also have other custom drinks you won’t find anywhere else. If you’re a fan of sparkling tea, Ramune, or those fun Korean sodas (I forgot the exact name!), you’ll absolutely love their bubble drinks.
Definitely worth stopping by — whether for a poke bowl or just to treat yourself to one of their specialty boba creations!

I’m so glad they opened so near to me. I love this place. Fresh ingredients, tasty toppings, generous portions. So many possible combinations limited only by your taste preferences. Staff always eager to help out. My go to place after a day of running errands. Great value for the money.

The food was great! I got the samurai bowl and a taro milk tea with crystal boba. The bowl was absolutely fantastic, and I will be coming back. The tea was just okay and they served it with a super short straw that kept falling in the cup. Next time I’m going to try their signature drink.

This was our first visit. The staff was friendly and showed us how to order, Chipotle-style. The food was fresh, tasty, healthy, and colorful. The store was clean and modern looking. They chose nice songs to play from the speakers, but it was never too loud to have a conversation on our date. I watched the basketball game playing on mute on their large flatscreen. With two scoops of protein, our bill was under $30, a good price for a dinner date or business lunch. 5 stars!

The food was excellent! It was a welcomed difference especially while eating vegetarian style. The only reason why I didn’t give it a five star is due to the price. Our total was $20 per person.
