Our little family has been regulars here, and honestly, this place never misses. The food is consistently delicious, the portions are generous, and it’s always one of those spots we’re genuinely excited to come back to.

Our top three favorites are the popcorn chicken cupbob, the beef brisket jjamppong, and the beef brisket jajangmyeon. The popcorn chicken cupbob is a must-try—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly paired with rice and japchae. The beef brisket dishes are rich, comforting, and packed with bold flavor, and the portions are big enough that sharing is easy (and encouraged). One bowl is more than enough for two people.

The spice level of the jjamppong is just right—not too spicy, just the kind that warms you up and makes winter feel a little more bearable. Add fast, friendly service, and you’ve got a winning combo.

If you’re already at H Mart or hunting for a food court gem with big flavors and even bigger portions, this spot is definitely worth a stop—and probably a repeat visit.

Located inside Hmart in Niles.
You need to sing the bell.for service. Look like a small.shop with 2-3 workers only. They give you a pager when your food is ready. It usually take about 10 minutes only. Sometimes they have good sales going on.
Best Spicy Pork fried rice in the Chicagoland. My favorite spot spicy pork fried rice. Good favor! Large portions. Not too much spice. Rice is fried perfectly.
Their beef brisket black bean noodles is also very good too.

A good test for any Korean Chinese place is its black bean noodles and sweet and sour pork. This place absolutely fails in sweet and sour pork dish. The fried pork has more dough than the meat, and its sauce is sweet without much flavor. What is likely to be a cost cutting measure, the sauce includes mostly cabbage and few slices of carrot, instead of green peppers, mushrooms, baby corns, and all the ingredients that make the sauce ideal. For $17, it is not even close to meeting the value. Out of five vendors in HMart food court, this one is by far the worst.

We got the spicy beef noodle soup and the soy garlic chicken – both comforting and generously portioned. The noodles were pleasantly chewy, the broth had a nice kick, and there was plenty of beef and veggies. The chicken was hearty, chunky, and full of flavor. A satisfying meal in the H Mart food court.

Red Wok was acceptable for a Korean supermarket food court option but not by much.

The prices were in the $15-20 range but every option in HMart was similarly overpriced. I got the Bulgogi Beef Bowl. It was a hodgepodge of rice, glass noodles, beef, salad with very sweet dressing and some vegetables. The beef was rather dry and the dressing was way too sweet but the volume was not bad and the noodles were tasty.

The service was friendly if slow and we got a free drink with the meal. The table was inside a supermarket food court so it was acceptably clean and relatively quiet.

Overall, acceptable but not impressive
A fair description of Red Wok and, indeed, the entire HMart food court

Pro Tip
For those combining a food court meal with a visit to King Spa, get a discount ticket for $40 at the supermarket Customer Service counter, next to the registers.

It has really good light and crispy soy garlic sauce or spicy honey and 4 other flavors. But a bit salty that it needs a side of rice. The jajjang myun ( lack bean paste noodles) were good esp bc they had a choice or vegetarian and it’s so nice to have this option bc most places make the sauce w pork. Thank you. Open seating inside Hmart. Yummy but please less salt in the crispy chicken. Thank you.

I usually don’t post reviews, but felt I had to share my experience.

I ordered the hot honey spicy popcorn chicken to go and it was very disappointing. The portion was not what I was told it would be, and the chicken was tough and tasted like it had been previously frozen and reheated. A couple of hours after eating, my stomach started hurting and has continued since.

I can’t speak on their other menu items, but based on this experience, I wouldn’t return.

Update: got food poisoning. Stay away.

The contrast between expectation and reality is quite striking. The sauce, regrettably, is excessively sweet and lacks the characteristics of an authentic preparation. It gives the impression of having been purchased as a prepackaged burger or salad sauce from a store like Walmart. I don’t even know what I get!? Had to throw it way!

I regret that I didn’t buy from somewhere else.. thre are other good restaurants, I just never remember names

Spicy squid noodles were really good! Flavor was savory and had a lot of depth, noodles just the right level of chewy, and there was plenty of squid in the bowl. I’d definitely come back to try other noodle dishes.

The salad sauce on the rice is too sweet. I recommend the first dish (noodle and rice together) good to share for 2 people very big portion. Kinda expensive overpriced.
