The highlight of the visit was the Build Your Own Burger (BYOB). Really interesting and great options to top your burger. Try the roasted tomatoes – may not seem like it would go well on a burger but was great especially with the sriracha ranch sauce. Guinness on tap was probably asking for too much but at least they had it in can and the glasses were cold. The service was above average but definitely no wow factor. Plenty of parking since the restaurant exists within a plaza.
PROS
– Large menu
– The “Build Your Own Burger” is a huge addition. Great topping options.
– Close proximity to the Sioux Empire mall.
– Ample parking
– Loved the atmosphere. Lots of booths and tall ceilings
– Love that the bar opens up outdoors during warm months
CONS
– $8 for Guinness in a can seems a tad excessive
– Was charged for a meal that I did not order nor eat (Lemon Chicken). Our fault for not paying closer attention to the bill.

The food was really good.
The Spinach Artichoke dip is probably the best I’ve had. Easily enough for 4+ people. Only thing that may be a negative is it’s a bit greasy. But I didn’t mind.
I enjoyed the Stroganoff too. Didn’t love the crispy onions. But once you mix it all it’s good.
Service was very good too!
The to go containers are the best around. Not that flimsy Styrofoam crap most places give you.
I can’t wait to go back and try other things on the menu.

We did a late lunch. First time here. Great food and service. Had build your own burger, but with chicken instead. If there is any complaint, I didn’t have the chance to view my bill until after it was paid. I’m sure we will be back.

We wanted to go to a place with cocktails, which they had but wasn’t good. I don’t believe they use shakers to mix the cocktails. One of the drinks had blackberry syrup in it and it was just at the bottom of the cup (posting pic). The best thing was the bang bang shrimp, the shrimp was perfect and the flavor was awesome. The tomato bisque soup was also super good but the French onion was not. The burgers were ok, nothing to rave about. The amount of money we spent was definitely not worth it. The drinks especially, very disappointing I do not ever plan to return there. The one thing that actually made us upset was getting 1 drink menu for our group of 3 and getting told they didn’t have anymore drink menus. So it took a minute to look and see what we each wanted. What’s the big deal in giving each person a drink menu?

Had a lunch out with a large group of family today! Happy to see this space used by a new restaurant. The Tavern is a chain restaurant that I have been before, nothing crazy but nicer than a normal Applebees. The prices are quite high for South Dakota and lunch, it’s about $20+ a plate for lunch.
The portions are quite large, I and my mom both brought our leftovers home. She had the chicken ravioli and she loved it. I tried a bite and it was flavorful. I had the French dip and was very much unimpressed. The fries were nice and crispy, the meat was tender but the bread was STALE. Very gross, not crispy and tastes like it was made a few days ago. Was disappointed by that, the Au just did not make it better. I bet this would be good with actual fresh bread. Many people at our table got the hot beef and it was massive. Everyone enjoyed that!
Our server was very kind and was organized on all large table. Food came out at a decent time but had to wait a bit to get boxes/ bills.
Would come again to try something else.

I ordered the Bang Bang shrimp and an order of the chocolate cake, it was exquisite! The hostess, Ainsley, was extremely kind and helpful! She was very knowledgeable and welcoming, she sat us and told us who our server would be for the evening. Our server, Jenna, was wonderful as well! She was kind, inviting and well-versed on the menu and answered any questions we had with such kindness. I would recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for not only great food, but great service as well!

Came in with my wife and kids. Got sat at a table and asked for a booth, got changed really quick. Sean came over, introduced himself, and got our drink orders. He told us that he was unbiased on the food and wasn’t afraid to let us know about anything. We ordered an appetizer, the Spinach and Artichoke dip…it was phenomenal. We also ordered our entrées, which came out looking amazing. The food tasted incredible. I had to get a box early because 1. I didn’t want to eat a lot tonight, and 2. because I can eat more the next day at work. Sean asked me if he could box up my food for me…this has never happened. I politely declined because I like to know where my food is and where it goes. Yes, I know I’m stingy about some things. I boxed it up, and he took the dessert order. I highly recommend this place. If I could put more stars, I would put 15 for each category. Please, please give Sean a raise for his amazing hospitality!

Upon arrival, the whole staff was incredibly friendly! My table was available right away even though my reservation was last minute. I was very impressed with the decor and the overall feel of the restaurant, it was very bright and felt very warm and welcoming.
Once I was seated, my server Jessica was amazing! She knew the menu and made several recommendations that I did order. Those recommendations either met or exceeded my expectations! The portions were very healthy and left me feeling comfortably full.
If you are wanting a great place to bring your family, your spouse or your friends this is definitely the place to consider! 10/10 highly recommend.
