Reviews
This is our second time in and both times we were greeted by a nice lady (assuming owner), after we ordered she walked our order out to us instead of calling out our name fir us to pick up! The smash sauce is best! We have left both times stuffed full and happy!
If you’re looking for a quick yummy burger (I haven’t tried the Philly yet) this is your place 100%
So GOOD!
I ordered three items: onion rings (not listed on the menu but spotted on another table), a Classic Cheese, and a Classic Steak with extra white American.
Customer Service:
Service was warm and straightforward. The person taking my order was soft-spoken, friendly, and efficient. No complaints here.
Onion Rings:
These were a standout. I’m partial to a light beer batter, and these delivered exactly that. The seasoning was subtle, allowing the sweetness of the onion to come through, which I appreciated. The onions were cooked to a perfect al dente texture, and the batter was crisp without being heavy. If they aren’t officially on the menu yet, they should be. This is a must order.
Classic Cheese:
Given some of the reviews I’d read, I approached this burger with caution, but it ended up being very solid. Better than many burgers I’ve had recently. The beef was lightly seasoned, letting the meat speak for itself, and the patty had that proper smash-burger crust. The bun was soft and unobtrusive, and the house sauce balanced the saltiness of the American cheese nicely. Simple, well executed, and satisfying.
Classic Steak:
The steak sandwich was good, though not without a few caveats. The roll could use a bit more structure. It struggled to hold up to the fillings. The meat itself was well seasoned without being overly salty, though I would’ve liked a better cut; it lacked that unmistakable “Philly” character found at some longtime favorites. That said, the combination of meat, cheese, and onions worked well, and the overall flavor was enjoyable. While it’s not my top steak sandwich, it’s far from disappointing, and I’d order it again.
Overall:
Philly and Smash is a solid option if you’re in the Fife area. It may not blow your mind, but it delivers a reliably good meal with a few highlights, especially those onion rings. If you’re looking for a pleasant lunch or dinner without regret, this spot is worth a visit.
Ever been to Philly? You can’t come much closer to going there and getting a fabulous, authentic Philly Cheesesteak, than if you go to Philly N Smash: Cheesesteak, right here in Fife, Washington! It’s a tiny little place, with maybe six tables for dining in, a single gal tending the front counter and one fellow, chopping at that steak, without breaking stride or sweating a bead, creating a masterpiece in cuisine, the old fashioned way and serving it piping hot, or double wrapped in foil, to keep it that way, if the sandwich is a take out order.
When you arrive, you create your own order on a Kiosk, following a very simple menu tree and when completed you can pay using a credit or debit card, right there at the Kiosk, as cash is not accepted, including your tip, if one is so inclined to do so. I think you should! I also think you’ll want to, when you add up all the plus factors of the establishment!
You’ll also, want to tell all your friends about it, once you’ve tried it, because we need them to be around for a long time!…
At least, until they move Philadelphia out to Fife, Washington, right?
My wife and I are huge fans, obviously, as I’m originally from New York and have been helpless for an authentic cheesesteak, ever since my first Pennsylvania Whitetail hunting trip, when I was ten years old, with my father, grandfather and older brother, . After the cup of blood, from my first harvest of a sixteen point buck, transformed me into a man, we went into Philly, to celebrate my ascention, into manhood!
I had my first drink, as a man, with my father, grandfather and older brother, over an authentic cheesesteak!
I have no doubt, the memory of that day, and that sandwich, will probably be the last memory I am ever able to recall, when I am old, wrinkled, tired, grouchy and on my way out of this world. Hopefully…
With a Philly N Smash Cheesesteak, gripped tightly in my mitt, cause I ain’t givin’ it up to no one, no matter which way, I’m a goin’!
So go over there, silly!…
You can’t get addicted to them, unless you try one yourself, okay?
I recommend, the “Pepper Madness” with Provolone only!
It’s better than S…
Well… You know!…
Almost!…
Thanks, once again, for your time!
