Compared to the grease, grime and gout of fast food, this was a pleasant deviation. It was busy but line moved quickly. The ladies cooking and serving have a friend in me! Kind, welcoming and again the food was great. Fried items were crips, well seasoned.
Heading back to Jax, full and happy!
While on a mission to find the best country cooking in Southern Georgia, I stumbled upon a hidden gem—Laney’s Cajun & Country Cooking. Just a short 20-minute drive north of Tifton, this place was more than worth the trip.
From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by the warm, inviting atmosphere. The food? Absolutely wonderful. Every dish was packed with flavor, and the selection was just right for a Sunday lunch. My wife loved her meal, and even my 11-year-old daughter—who’s usually hard to please—cleaned her plate and asked for more.
What really stood out beyond the food was the feeling of community. We saw families praying together, laughing, and truly enjoying their time. It was refreshing and heartwarming—pure Southern hospitality at its finest.
Laney’s delivers top-notch food and top-notch people in a quiet little town that surprised us in the best way possible. If you’re anywhere near South Georgia and craving real country cooking, Laney’s is a must-visit.
The fried chicken, mac and cheese and green beans were great.
The staff were smiles and cheerful
We will stop in another day when we aren’t so rushed.
